| What is the world coming to? Did anyone hear about the newborn baby girl that was put in a plastic bag and set adrift in a river in Brazil? OH MY GOSH! What is the world coming to? I am just so upset today thinking about this horrific ordeal. Luckily she was rescued. Here's the link to the story..... you can see the video of the men pulling the bag from the river. http://www.wltx.com/fyi/fyi.aspx?storyid=34644 It makes me so mad and so angry! The mother was released from the hospital that day, after her and her baby were there for 2 mths. She went straight way and put her daughter in the river, because she couldn't care for her. She lied to the police and said that she gave her daughter to a group of homeless people and asked them to leave her somewhere, because she didn't want to see it..... Like that's supposed to be a better story! Why couldn't she just leave the poor thing at the hospital? This story has me so upset!

| That is awful! Just tonight on the local news there was a story of a newborn baby boy found left in the back of a pick up truck. Guy came out to his truck from work to find it....they said he was only hours old..but doing ok. Thing is, when they leave them like that, and if the mom is found, they face criminal charges..but if they just turn the baby over to authorities, hospital, etc..no questions asked (per the news) Sad.

| that is so sad! Makes me glad to know I have one of the good Brazilians out there. lol My boyfriend is from there. It's so sad to know that most families there can't even afford to take care of their own children.

I Love Thor Donating Member | Whoa! That is a miracle that she survived!!!! What a creepy video. Imagine how wierded out those guys that unwrapped her must have been. I am glad that she is okay now. Hopefully she wont be released back to her mother who said she gave to her homeless people cause she didin't have enough money to suppurt her. What kind of sense does that make???? |

| Sad video, weird that they got it on tape. You can tell the guy was kind of scared to open it, maybe he thought it was an animal. There was a case last year of a lady who put her baby in a bag and into the dumpster. It makes me so mad, it's a life. Some people would do so much to have a baby and pay considerable amounts for one. It costs around $35,000 min to adopt a chinese baby girl (my husband and I have been looking into it.) If someone wants to get rid of their baby, seriously give her to me before you decide to dump and kill him/her! JEEZ! Give the child a chance at life. I have no idea how someone could have such disreguard for life. http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/m...trashbaby.html SAN DIEGO – A woman who allegedly put her newborn son in a trash-filled bag found behind an apartment complex Dumpster pleaded innocent Tuesday to a charge of premeditated attempted murder. Janelle Bulatao, 24, faces life in prison with parole if convicted, said Deputy District Attorney Wendy Patrick Mazzarella. Advertisement The prosecutor alleged that Bulatao put the baby, with the umbilical cord still attached, in the trash bag, then into another bag, last June 5. "She did this in the middle of the night," she said. The prosecutor said neighbors in the Bay Terraces neighborhood, who had heard a baby's cries for more than an hour, found the infant and rushed him to a hospital. The baby had respiratory problems but has since recovered, the prosecutor said. Judge Albert Harutunian III set the defendant's bail at $500,000. A readiness conference was scheduled for Jan. 27 and a preliminary hearing for Feb. 2. |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | That is so sad! A family in my church adopted a baby boy, Andrew, about 2 or 3 years ago. He was found on the steps of a Pizza Ria, and he was only a few hours old.

| i used to hear a lot of smiliar stories regarding baby girls in china as well. since china have the law discouraging having more than one child per couple, male children are more highly regarded because they can pass on the family name and lineage. hence some couples will abandon their daughters at an orphanage or worse, leave their baby girls to die in a river or a baby girl would somehow wind up dead so that they can try again for another child. it's so sad. |
