| New Idea For Christmas Lights Well, I bought laser lights last year .....I just do not have the desire or the energy to hang lights all over the house, the shrubs in the fliwer beds, and outlining the flower beds with lights....so for this year, we got those laser lights!!! THOUSANDS of tiny little points of light thrown up on the house in blue...then I got two for the shrubs that throw tiny green lights, then I got two solid green landscape lights, under the two trees in the front, shining upwards into the trees, illuminating the trees in green....took us all of 10 minutes to light up the entire house and shrubs and trees across the front!!! NO climbing on ladders, no hundreds of extension cords all over the front yard, having to wrap the connections to extension cords in Kotex to absorb the moisture, then wrapping the connections in plastic bags to keep all this waterproof so the lights dont throw the circuit breaker....SUCH a pain in the butt!!! This takes all of 10-20 minutes MAX and the entire house is flecked in tiny blue lights, the hedges in red and green, and the trees, up lit in green! Only way for an old lady that does not like heights and cant go up ladders, to do this!!!! |

I had seen those tiny little points of light all over a huge 2 story house in a subdivision across the blvd. from our addition...it was stunning and I investigated/researched and got some! GREAT for people that want pretty, yet quick and easy, no climbing on ladders involved, to get a beautiful effect! Been seeing them here in Houston for the last 2 years, slowly at first, but getting more and more popular!! Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 12-17-2015 at 08:30 AM. | |

| We are going to be going out to drive around and look at christmas lights it will be interesting to see how many people use them this yr with the ease and convenience of them. It just kinda scares me to get them in my neighborhood where there is some theiving. On the news there was some lady that had hers stolen, thats what I dont like about them is they are easy to steal

| The local news here is reporting a lot of thefts of the new laser lights. The stores can't seem to keep them in stock, so thieves are stealing them from the neighborhoods and selling them on Craigslist for 3 or 4 times the cost. I've seen some houses here that have them. If you park your car in front of them or some other obstruction, you have a big shadow. I personally love the look of traditional lights. I'm not a fan of the laser.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Interestingly, it's been on the news that these lasers are causing some problems for airplanes...kind of scary.
