| Dr. King In Honor of the Reverend Martin Luther King I would like to extend a Happy MLK Day to my fellow YTers. Tonight I will be joining my friends at a local Baptist Church to hear a speaker who survived the bombing of the church in Alabama. At this time I wish Peace on Earth to all and safety and a speedy return to our troops abroad.

| Kath How sweet of you to post this. It is a very special day! I have to say I was quite moved when my 6 year old came home last week and told me, very eloquently, all about what he had learned about Dr. King in his social studies class. It was very touching and later that night my husband and I download his I have a dream speech and we all listened to it together. My son was fascinated with the sound of his voice! Sounds like you will be having a VERY interesting evening. |

| That sounds like a very blessed thing to attend. I wish you peace right back. May we all live in freedom and God protect those who stand in harms way everyday and give their lives for us to do so. |

| Thanks for posting this. The radio station I listen to during the day replayed bits of the "I Have a Dream" speech and it gives me chills every time I hear it.

| I actually started to cry reading this thread. So, many forget why they have this day off. I am old and young enough to remember when this day became a holiday..I remember Stevie Wonder's "Happy Birthday To Ya" song...I to have the speech downloaded..Great Words from a Great Man!
