| Advice regarding pregnancy tests... This is probably a silly thread, but I need opinions! I've been nauseous and having migraines every day for the past week, starting with as soon as I start getting ready for the day. I've excluded my morning coffee for a few days, thinking that the dairy in the drink causes the nausea, but its made no difference! I get nauseous about 4-5 hours after meals too... I'm thinking its maybe just a little bug thats been heat induced, but my sister is convinced I need to take a pregnancy test. Now, for my question...do any of you know of an at-home test that will show true results before missed periods? I have almost 2 weeks before mine is due, so I highly doubt the possibility. But just in case, I don't want to risk harming a baby by taking the Pill. What do you ladies think? Thanks in advance

| The EPT pregnancy test is very accurate. That's the one I have used. If your HCG levels are elevated you are pregnant. This is what the test looks for in the urine. Either it is there or it isn't. Good luck.

| My last pregnancy I was tired and just felt like I should take a test so I did it came out postive...I went to the dr the next day and my hcg levels were only at 59...they were worried I'd had a miscarrage but turns out I just found out REALLY early...I was 12 days pregnant! Now my first one (5 years earlier than my second pregnancy) I was 5 weeks and the test came out negative...took another 2 weeks of nausa and tireness I took another test it came out positive--tests then which now that was 8 yrs ago did'nt pick up hcg levels like they do now that's why i found out so quickly with my second pregancy. Also if your test comes out negative and you still feel like that a blood test can confirm quicker or retake another test in about a week...Good luck! |

| To be honest with you, if your not due for 2 weeks and your cycle is regular then your not going to be able to pick up a positive this soon. You probably already tested if you bought it on the 31st though and no that. Typically ovulation occurs in a text book case 14 days before you start your cycle, however the end of the cycle time frame can vary. It's the leutal phase and can range from 10-14 days. EPT and clear blue both make great early pregnancy tests.. but they won't pick up hcg that soon

| Yeah you have to be 10-12 days past ovulation for the pregnancy test to work. That's why they say "5 days sooner" because if you have a 28 day cycle and you ovulate on day 14 then you will be 10-12 dpo at day 24-26, which is "5 days sooner" than day 29 which would be the first missed day. But not all women ovulate on day 14 and who knows when you ovulated (or didn't) if you are on the pill. The pill should suppress ovulation unless you forget to take it or take antibiotics. Furthermore, you won't have morning sickness before you can even get a positive pregnancy test You need hormones for morning sickness, and the test picks up the hormones. So I would get a test, but if it's negative you can be sure you aren't feeling pregnancy symptoms. Test now and in 2 weeks just to be sure. I *would* however call your doctor if this continues. I've had so many issues and I've suffered cyclical "morning sickness" due to wacky hormones and pain and I've never been pregnant. No one should have to suffer through pain and nausea. Migraines are no fun either. Good luck! |

| I think you should qualify, thats just s**tty... have you tried b12 to lenghten your LP? Also, about the migraines.. I've suffered hormonal migraines most of my adult life.. I get them at ovulation time, and along with pms. You could be feeling off due to your hormonal surges from ovulation is your 2 weeks pre AF

| Sorry, the past few days have been pretty busy! I took a test, and it was negative as I thought it would be. Now to figure out where the stomach issues are coming from i suppose...

| The migraines may continue since you cut out the coffee, unless you are drinking decaf. I am a chronic migraine sufferer and if I dont' have one Diet Coke a day my head is a pounding... Also if you are young or really really don't want to be pregnant, you could be causing a migraine from stressing out about it..been there, done that! haha |
