Donating YT 11K Club Member | I think fleas bit me I think maybe i got flea bites....I woke up i think 2 weeks ago with like 3 or 4bites on my arm. They itch like crazy so ive been scratching them and putting itch cream but they still have not gone away. Instead they spread and now i have tiny bumps all over that area and its red and still itches. I know it was overnight that it happened, but i def. dont have bed bugs. I can't find fleas on the dogs but im guessing they must have them cause Teddy has a red bump on his butt that he cant stop biting and keeps biting his paws, London however is not scratching If he had it wouldnt she also? Idk should i spray something anyway?

| Just be glad they are not fly larvae incubating under your skin waiting to bust out through your skin when they are ready. (Saw that on Discovery channel *gross*) I'm just saying, it could be worse. I think you will be ok, just keep on the anti-itch cream. Don't give into the temptation! Also you will get scarred! When I get bit by mosquitos they swell up to baseball size! Even if I don't scratch I get scars!

Thor's Human Donating Member | You should be able to reduce scarring with neosporin. My family was pretty cavelier about fleas with our indoor/outdoor cats, and I constantly had flea bites all around my ankles. Imagine lying in bed in a hot Los Angeles night with no A/C and the urge to ITCH ITCH ITCH. No fun. Anyway, while I am still bitter, I have no scars on my ankles, though I reguarly scratched the bumps right off.

| The last time Alfie brought them home he was deloused and shampood in flea shampoo, but I kept getting bites on my ankles. I bought two cans of home flea spray from the petstore, you spray this around the perimeter of the room and the perimeter under your sofa cushions and also under your mattress, it does work. In the course of my work as an electrician I quite often disturb fleas while lifting carpets and floorboards, they can lay dormant for 3-4 years and as soon as you start bashing around the floorboards you wake them up. If I get bit at work I always spray the room and furniture at home to make sure any I have brought in with me are dealt with. If you do manage to catch one they have a hard shell and the only way to physically kill them is by squeezing them between two finger nails so that they pop. Much easier to spray, If you are not sure whether you are infested, spraying will do no harm even if you are not. |
