The last time Alfie brought them home he was deloused and shampood in flea shampoo, but I kept getting bites on my ankles.

I bought two cans of home flea spray from the petstore, you spray this around the perimeter of the room and the perimeter under your sofa cushions and also under your mattress, it does work.

In the course of my work as an electrician I quite often disturb fleas while lifting carpets and floorboards, they can lay dormant for 3-4 years and as soon as you start bashing around the floorboards you wake them up.

If I get bit at work I always spray the room and furniture at home to make sure any I have brought in with me are dealt with.

If you do manage to catch one they have a hard shell and the only way to physically kill them is by squeezing them between two finger nails so that they pop.

Much easier to spray, If you are not sure whether you are infested, spraying will do no harm even if you are not.
