| Maybe all that pasta helped keep to keep her healthy. The dog I grew up with was a Boston Terrier who lived to be 23 years old. Back in the 30's and 40's I think most people fed their dogs whatever they ate and is the reason they lived a long time.

| What a great story! Im glad that she kept Chanel even through out all of the hardships that she had to go through, and no matter what was going on financially she still found a way! Thanks for posting!

| My best friends mom's cat lived to be almost 21, and my husbands dog growing up lived to be just over 21. I was skeptical at first, but they had pictures of him when they got him when my sister in law was just a baby, and he died before she turned 22, 9 years ago. I have been married to my husband for almost 13, and together for almost 16, and I can say that dog never acted old until just before he died.

| Oh and I don't know that he ever had dog food, he was a shepard mix that lived on leftovers.

| Oh! That is a wonderful story. Thank you so much for sharing it, Kyle. I love positive stuff like that! I hope my two live that long and have such a wonderful life as Chanel. I had a Siamese cat that lived to 18. So longevity lives in my "family" (so to speak -- my pet family, that is!). |

| That's why I'm kinda skeptical about different brands, homecooking, etc. because we had a Jack Russell growing up and he basically only ate leftover and he lived to be pretty old as well. We would even feed him leftover chocolate cake and all kinds of "bad" foods (not knowing anymore better!)!
