| Training a kitten Our new kitten is the sweetest little thing, but she uses her claws a lot. I know she is just getting used to them, but they ummm... hurt... she like kneeds them into our legs or whatever when we are holding her... BUT what she really needs to stop is... like say she is on the floor and we are standing... when she wants to be held, she'll take all four of her legs and latch onto your leg and climb with her claws... it hurts A LOT. How do we get her to stop doing this?

| I have 3 cats (always had cats) Now is the time to get kitty used to having her nails done, you just need to take the tips off, you can use people nail clippers I do, also start getting her used to using a post ( old rug, even a log will do) But sometimes you will get a kitty that will make bread on you forever, I had one that did that till the day she died so doing her nails helped. Also for your chairs and things I use clear tape, cats don't like the feel of the tape and you can't see the tape much on the chair. Keeps my home from looking like a cat house

| Also if she is real young a lot of that she will outgrow. She is still a baby and still misses mommy so now you are her new mommy (she will get better after some time)

| Okay...a silly question (it's been awhile since we've had a kitten this young... try 17 years)... what kind of toys do kittens this young like? We have a plastic cage looking thing with a bell inside, a pompom looking ball that crinkles, and a plastic ball with a bell. She doesn't seem interested in them at all... do younger kittens like different things?
