| Im not sure.... I have my 3 pups. 8 lbs 4 lbs and 3 lbs. I have a associate degree in daycare and have worked with kids all my life. My good friend has a friend who just had a little boy. They are looking for a babysitter. Id love to take the job and have a baby around agian but I dont know if having the dogs should change that. Right now Hunter, the baby, is 3 moinths, my dogs have meet hunter and his Mom and didnt seem to care it was a baby but I didnt have him for a extended time. I would have hunter for no more than 6 hours a day 5 days a week tops and the pups will be home all that time too.,I know young kids and little dogs dont normally mix but I want the job. And I DO NOT want to put my babies at risk. What are your feeling on this, would you babysit? Or would you leave your baby with a sitter with pups? I need a different point of view. |

| I only have Murfee who is 4 years old and 5 lbs. Two of my grandkids live with us. They were 3 and 6 when we got Murfee and my other granddaughter was 2. I taught the girls from the beginning not to pick up Murfee and we have had no trouble. I now have a new grandson that I babysit for and Murfee doesn't seem to mind him. He will sniff him and try to lick him. If the kids chase Murfee or try to get right in his face, he has snapped but never bitten. Good luck

| I have a 2 yr old grandaughter and keep her once in awhile. She is a rough little thing but love her to death. But so do I love my dog. I always tell them they have to sit down and let her come to them. No running and I watch her close. She likes to squeeze to hard and she doesn't realize it. So she doesn't get to do that she has to let the dog come to her and lick her face and love her and she knows she is being loved. Now I'm the grandma and she listens but her dad they had a young cocker and he would nip her. She would take his toys and squeeze him hard. They had to get rid of the dog. So I think its what the child learns.

| I agree it is what the child is taught. If you teach the child how to act in your home and what is not acceptable I think you will be fine. My friend used to have a daycare and she has 4 dogs and two are pitbulls. She kept the dogs and children separated except for two of the dogs and she was very careful to make the dogs stay in the same room as her. She never left them alone, more for the children's safety then the dogs just because her dogs are big dogs. But she would not tolerate the kids being mean to the dogs and they learned how to treat them. Which is beneficial because they learned to treat animals kindly.
