I only have Murfee who is 4 years old and 5 lbs. Two of my grandkids live with us. They were 3 and 6 when we got Murfee and my other granddaughter was 2. I taught the girls from the beginning not to pick up Murfee and we have had no trouble. I now have a new grandson that I babysit for and Murfee doesn't seem to mind him. He will sniff him and try to lick him. If the kids chase Murfee or try to get right in his face, he has snapped but never bitten. Good luck
