| HELP..I am NOT smarter than a fifth grader... My fifth grade granddaughter needs math help. We are working on composite numbers and I am totally lost. Any help would be appreciated

| A prime number is a whole number that only has two factors which are itself and one. A composite number has factors in addition to one and itself. The numbers 0 and 1 are neither prime nor composite. All even numbers are divisible by two and so all even numbers greater than two are composite numbers. All numbers that end in five are divisible by five. Therefore all numbers that end with five and are greater than five are composite numbers. The prime numbers between 2 and 100 are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89 and 97.

| Sheilagh, I'm with you. I can't even understand what Susan said T The question she has is: Which group names all the whole number factors of a composite number? and then gives 4 choices. I don't even understand the question.

| Which group names all the whole number factors of a composite number? Which group names all the whole number factors of a composite number? It would help if I had the choices, however, composite numbers are all counting numbers that are not prime numbers. In other words, composite numbers are all numbers that have more than 2 factors .... Maybe that can help you??? Maybe it is "multiples"? or you can use a "factor tree"?
