| New yorkie owner I just got a new yorkie baby 3 weeks ago, and I love her so much. She is 10 weeks old, and weighs 2 pounds. I wanted to know when they stop growing and when does there hair start changing colors? My friend has a yorkie and his hair is really coarse and my pups hair is very soft and silky, will her hair texture change as well??? |

| Congratulations on your new baby! Typically, you can double their weight at 12 weeks and that is what their full adult weight is. Of course, with everything there is deviations from the rule so you have to use it more as a guide than a solid fact. Colors will break at different times for each puppy. Some keep their darker colors longer others break much earlier. Your pup will probably loose it's puppy fuzz, which is the part of the coat that normally makes it harder to come and mats up. If you have a silk coat though, the texture of her coat shouldn't change. There are different kinds of coats and your friends puppy could be a modified coat of some sort and that is why it is coarse. Hope this helps! |
