| Toy dogs can become neurotic it's true. There are several reasons for this. The one I just read about is not letting the dog be a dog! Treating them like a human child and constantly dressing them up, carrying them everywhere and not letting them walk and sniff, not letting them do what dogs do can make some little ones very sick. It's sad but true. |

LUV my 3 Furrs & Alex Donating Member | Well, my dogs won't have a problem then as i let them do whatever they want(doggie stuff) i mean, like walking, sniffing and all of this. They are also with me all the time that is why they have some separation anxiety problems that I am trying really hard to treat. But I have opened this thread because one of my mates online asked me today. Thanks for all the replies.

| I have a neurotic Yorkie My Woody is only 1 year old and on puppy Prozac as it is called. because he chews his hair out of his legs and squeals like he is being tortured. If you distract him with a toy, which by the way are in his toy box, he will stop it. The Vet said he does this for attention or boredom. I can't play with him 24/7, keep him supplied with all kind of toys and he still goes off the deep end every so often. The medication does some good, but doesn't cure the problem. it is a mental, or neurotic situation for him. His brother is fine, does not have this. Also, it could be from his brother being the Alpha dog and he wants to be. He gets lots of attention and we have play time separate from each other, but he will still does this if tired. There are many reasons for a dog to have this condition. I think mine does it for attention.
