| Lily is home! We went and got Lily today, 2 1/2 hour drive. she is super tiny 1 lb. i am trying to figure out if she will be ok sleeping in her crate tonight, the breeder left her in a pen with access to her food all night. Would she be ok without food in her crate overnight? What time should I give her the last meal so she doesn't have to go out all night? Should I give her nutracal before bed? I just wonder becayse she is small.

| OOOH SHE IS SOOOO CUTE!!! BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL GIRL!!! When I first got Oscar he was quite small too and he wasn't eating on a regular schedule just yet, so I would leave his food in his ex-pen with him and in the middle of the night I'd hear him munchin away. At that size, I would also be giving her nutrical on a regular basis as part of her daily routine, 2 or 3 times a day at least. Keep in mind though, if she has access to food at night, she will likely need to potty shortly after too. If she's just a young pup (which I'm assuming she is) you can pretty much gaurantee she won't be able to go the whole night without pottying, regardless of when she was last fed.

| Lily Lily is one of my favorite names, so good choice! How old is she? I keep my Lola in a portable playpen. That way she has her bed, wee wee pads and food. Maybe try that for awhile. I got mine at a garage sale for $10, looks like new. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I had Cali in a dog playpen also with her bedding at one end and her wee we pads at the other end. I kept it next to my bed so she never cried at bedtime. It worked out great she was trained very quickly on the wee wee pads. I would definatley give her nutrical several times a day. Cali went hypoglycmic 3 times so I had to feed her every 3- 4 hours even during the night. She was tiny like Lily. Lily is a doll!!

| She is 9 wks. old. I have my kitchen set up with gates at both entrances and have her bed in there and water and toys. I have always kept my puppies in a crate beside my bed at night till they were house broken. I have never used the wee pads just taken them outside every couple hours during day and in crate at night. I don't want to have to break her of the pads, so I wasn't planning on using them at all. I am sure she will cry to let me know she needs to go out at night which I expected taking her out a couple times during the night. The crate method has always worked great with my other dogs. Maybe i'll keep her in a crate by my bed and when she wakes up to go out feed her too. I guess I am just a little nervous and don't want her to have a hypogycemic spell(which the breeder says has never happened to her). Also she has VERY dry skin and flaky, does that sound normal and what can I do for it? The breeder gave me oatmeal shampoo.

| She's so teeny! That rawhide bone looks HUGE next to her and look at how hard she's working on it! You son just looks so happy & proud holding her so gently in the blanket! Congratulations to a great new addition to a terrific family!

| Oh, what a little cutie she is...Lily is a perfect name for her. And your son has such beautiful eyes....bet he already has to fight off the girls. I would leave food for her and check on her during the night. I love that bed you have for her...where did you get it? I've been trying to find one like that for Ziggy.

| Thanks for all of the compliments. My son McChesney is 10 so not into girls too much yet. He went with us to get Lily and my 13 year old didn't, and yes he is very gentle with her and very proud of her. I got the bed at a Big Lots, and what is so funny the breeder sent me a picture before I got her after I had already bought my bed and she had the same bed Lily was using. It is a small bed too so my other dogs won't fit in it. I am going to keep her in the crate tonight next to my bed and take her out about every 3 hrs. to potty and eat. I'll see how that works out tonight and take it from there.

| Okay, thanks. I will check the Big Lots here for the bed. I'm sure baby Lily will be fine tonight. Let us know how it goes.
