| New 2 Forum & New 2 Yorkies; Just got my 1st ! Hello ! I am new to this forum & I am a brand new yorkie owner. I do know a little bit about the breed & I came to own one just by chance. I was never really into them as a breed & being a dog groomer for years I always thought they were just a little to "bratty" for me. LOL Also I didnt want a dog that yapped so they were never on my list of dogs to own one day. Well I got a job working at a different dog salon about 2 weeks ago. My boss had a female yorkie that is one years old that wasnt getting along with her other dogs & who was pregnant. The dog had been up to the shop & when I was holding her, for some reason, she was so calm, I actually could envision her being with me. My boss told me she needed a home & that I could have her for free & they'd take care of the puppies when they came along etc. She is very very docile, doesnt bark & is pee pad trained. I was like wow perfect ! After having her for a couple days, (her first day with me was March 16th) I realized how serene she was & how petting her helped to keep me calm as well. She is so sweet & darling that I named her Serenity. My friends couldnt believe that I got a yorkie but once I tell them she is different then they understand. I love her & she's been really fun. It's nice having a little dog that just lays right next to you or in your lap while you read or watch tv. It's like she's not even here. She is a love bug & I love spoiling her & it hasnt made her rotten. I plan on posting more pix of her in my album & learning more about yorkies in general. So thats my intro to the group ! Btw, I live in Michigan, I have no children but I do have a 15yro Shep/Lab mix named Freedom, a 3 yro cat named Cashmere, a robo hamster, a teddy bear hamster, a syrian hamster & to to many rats !!
