| newbie to the world of yorkies! Hello everyone! my name is melissa, and my hubby and i have a wonderful one year old lil yorkie named Teddy. I have had dogs all my life, but he is my first "little" dog-i have always had dalmatians and boxers. We got him for free from a lady i work with who got him for her young daughter and she wasnt taking care of him. The mother was sick of taking him out (!!) and didnt like dogs so she just gave him to me for free. She made him sound like a horrible dog, but honestly he is the sweetest, most well mannered dog i have ever had! he is great with other dogs, kids, old ladies on bicycles lol, and cats..etc. We were shocked at just how good he is! He is just great and we love him to death-hes also a daddys boy. We are still working on fully potty training him-he is doing really well considering when we got him he had no idea where to go, and wasnt trained in the slightest. He and i enjoy mile long walks everyday. i joined this site just to meet some new people and to learn more about yorkies in general because i know nothing about them or any other small breed. |

| Thank you everyone for the nice comments. I absolutely love him just because he is so darn sweet! i love his little dog mannerisms that i have never seen in a big dog. Sometimes, he will sort of do a "snoopy" thing-he will lift his head straight up against the back of a chair or the couch (when he is sitting in it)and just look over at you-just like how snoopy does. it melts my heart. we chose a small dog because my two cats have never even seen a dog. i was afraid if i got a dog that was bigger than them they would hide in fear constantly and we would never see them, or i was afraid a bigger dog would even kill them. when we first brought ted home, it took about a month for them to just get used to his smell and be in the same room as him! lol.. they didnt know what to think of him. now all 3 of them hog the bed at night lol.. they wont admit it, but they love eachother.

| Hi I'm new to YT too! And new to Yorkies! I haven't even picked my pup up from the breeders yet! I think Teddy is adorable and you're both very lucky to have found each other. His previous owner obviously didn't appreciate him or love him and now he must feel on top of the world!!! I'll look forward to watching him blossom is his new loving home! |
