| Introducing Tanuki Well...as several of you know, we decided in early August to get Sukoshi a sister after the vet diagnosed her with deep depression after coming home from spending a week with Chloe (mistyinca's baby) at Misty's while Matt and I were on our anniversary cruise (she had so much fun on her extended sleepover while we were away, and she was so sad to come home to no other doggy to play with). Well...we've been on the lookout for an adorable baby ever since, and the original plan was to breed her mom and dad again through Sukoshi's breeder when her mom goes into heat in late December, which means we would've been able to bring a baby home sometime in May, assuming her mom had at least 1 little girl. Well...in the meantime, Corinne (Dan & Corinne) put me in touch with Mary (bugaboosmom), who used to be on YT all the time. Mary is a fabulous breeder in the area who breeds and shows Yorkies. She only has about 2 litters per year, and she truly breeds for the right reasons. So, we went to look at Mary's 2 litters on December 15th, and we found our little Tanuki! It was a hard decision for me because I kept wondering if I should wait to get Sukoshi's biological sister since she is such an angel, but we have been waiting since August, and we decided this was the right baby for us. Tanuki was born October 12, and she reminds us so much of Sukoshi at that age. They both have very active little ears! Instead of just standing up like normal, they both turn them every which way to tune in whatever sounds they're hearing. One of the attached pictures shows them both together, and BOTH of them with their little ears back as they check each other out. Little Tanuki is shy just like Sukoshi was at that age, and she just laid in my arms while I held her. She is about the same size Sukoshi was at that age as well. There was one other girl that we looked at, but she was a feisty one, and we wanted one that better matched Sukoshi's personality, as we don't want her to dislike the puppy! Tanuki will have a much better coat than Sukoshi too, so I am REALLY looking forward to the ease of silk over having to constantly having to brush Sukoshi's cottony coat. We are bringing Tanuki home on Saturday, January 12th, and we are so excited! Sukoshi is going to LOVE having a full-time sister to play with! So, without further ado...here's Tanuki... |
