| Edgewood Kennel in VA Does anyone know anything about the Edgewood Kennel in Virginia owned by Cynthia Hill? I stumbled across her website when I was looking for Yorkie breeders in my area and the pictures she had on the site were beyond gorgeous. However, I noticed she is not listed on the YTCA.com breeder page. |

| They are stunningly beautiful pups. Concerns: no copies of contracts or health guarantees, no information about health, period. Two of the pups are super tiny at. <3lbs. (Gotcha & Catcha) . Nothing about selling these tinies as pet status only. Now, I know absolutely nothing about researching breeders except what I have learned on this site, but I HAVE learned that tiny babies have health problems; be wary of anyone not on YTCA page, see the pup, parents and premises in person before committing, and talk to others who have dealt with this person. I saw she had an Angies list review, but I'm not a member, so don't know what it said. That is my 2 cents worth, for free.

| I found that this one is located on Henrico Rd in Buffalo Junction and the property does indeed have OUTDOOR Kennel on the property that don't appear to be so wonderful but I can't vouch for what's going on there. I will say the website has over 30 pups and adults for sale yet claims to be home raised etc....not likely. Very little important information is found including the address on the website. It seems that a few years back she was a prominent member of the Show Circuit...although there isn't a ton of info. on her out there regarding her pups. She also has numerous Bitches and studs listed on her site and breeds Yorkies and Maltese.... In my whatever opinion I WOULD NOT BUY FROM THIS BREEDER BASED ON HER websites information and lack of, the amount of pups she has available...over 30...way too many red flags, find someone more reputable.

| I checked out this breeder's site and found it very interesting. She only has 8 puppies offered for sale presently - with multiple photos of each. I also noted she doesn't have prices listed, as is very acceptable, IMO; as is the fact that she doesn't have a contract or terms listed on her website. Obviously, you need to contact her to discuss her puppies, not just send a random deposit in with a completed questionnaire. I love the look of her lines & remain frustrated at the judgmental attitudes that seem at times to prevail on his site; without any stated first hand knowledge of the breeder. |

| I think maybe she looked at the wrong website. I think the dogs are beautiful and I personally saw no red flags.

| I purchased a retired breeding female from her in 2008 at age 7. She is the sweetest dog I've ever met and is doing great. Would go all the way to VA to use her again. She recently relocated to VA from PA. I cannot stress the sweet disposition of my dog. |

| I know a few people that have bought from her, received their dogs and LOVE them. I know one of them told me she has a contract that is signed and she prefers to speak with people by phone. It is very typical for show breeders to not list prices and she must decide and judge each one before selling them. I'm not sure of all her policies but I know the few that have her babies are very happy. Not everyone is very detailed about their websites as it is not a priority for them. Doesn't mean they don't have contracts, quailty, health guarentees, etc.. everyone has an opinion. Speak w/ her, visit her, and then form your own opinion.

| Edgewood Kennels, VA I have known Cindy and George Hill for many years. My sister and I purchased some beautiful dogs from her through the years when they lived in Bangor, PA. Cindy is a reputable breeder and quality is #1 with her. I bought a show puppy from her once and she even gave me handling lessons. She takes great pride in her yorkies and maltese. She owns many dogs, yes, but she also keeps about 20 in her house at all times! She and her husband are avid dog lovers. I cannot say enough about the quality of her dogs. When I retire next year, I plan to drive down there and get another! |

She always give a health certification. I miss them very much and when I retire next year I am planning on driving down there and purchasing another one of her wonderful pups. |

| I suggest you check carefully IN PERSON. Over a period of 10 years I purchased a Yorkie and a Maltese from Edgewood. The Yorkie was just gorgeous and had a wonderful temperament. The Maltese -- not so much, and she charged me a LOT of money. (she said the price of a "show quality" dog). The dog's tail is all screwed up like a little piglet, she has hypothyroid which resulted in such a bad ear infection I had to have the ear canal removed, both rear kneecaps luxate. She has IBD and was infested with worms when I brought her home. Cynthia Hill would not let me see the parents of the Maltese and I had to persist in order to get a look at the dog before I purchased. I didn't know enough to check the tail, thyroid, knees, etc. I trusted the breeder because the Yorkie was so special. Bad choice. |

| Relative to my message below: Lily is still with me, she will be 9 this year, and I love her dearly. I don't want to give the impression that we aren't bonded. |
