| A Poem for those grieving for their pets I was sent this poem when I lost a pet years ago. I think it is quite well known, but I thought I would post it as it helped me so much. WHEN TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME, AND I'M NOT THERE TO SEE, THE SUN WILL RISE AND FIND YOUR EYES, ALL FILLED WITH TEARS FOR ME I KNOW HOW MUCH YOU LOVED ME, SO MUCH - AS I LOVED YOU. AND EACH TIME YOU THINK OF ME I KNOW YOU'LL MISS ME, AS I DO YOU. BUT AN ANGEL CAME AND CALLED ME SHE TOOK ME IN HER ARMS AND SUDDENLY I WAS WELL AGAIN BUT SAD TO LEAVE YOUR ARMS SHE TOOK ME TO A BEAUTIFUL PLACE IN PET HEAVEN FAR ABOVE THERE I PLAY WITH LOTS OF FRIENDS WHILE WE WAIT FOR THOSE WE LOVE IF I COULD BE ALIVE ONCE MORE EVEN FOR A LITTLE WHILE I’D RUN TO YOU AND KISS YOUR FACE JUST TO SEE YOU SMILE PLEASE DO NOT CRY, MY BELOVED MOMMY FOR I AM HAPPY, WELL AND FREE I WILL BE HERE WAITING FOR YOU FOR OUR BOND OF LOVE LASTS ETERNALLY AND WHEN TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME PLEASE DON'T THINK WE'RE FAR APART FOR EVERY TIME YOU THINK OF ME I'LL BE RIGHT THERE IN YOUR HEART. I send my love, prayers and condolences to all of you who are suffering the loss of your darling Yorkie. It seems absolutely unbearable at the time when you lose a dearly loved pet, but eventually, with time, you find you are able to cope. There will always be the odd time when a memory starts the tears flowing again, but this will be balanced by the memories that make you smile. We open our hearts to love our pets completely, knowing that the time will come when we will be parted from our darlings for a while. It is so terribly hard, but we have to be brave and thankful that we enjoyed the gift of their love and company for a while and were richer for it. I believe that we will be reunited with our precious pets. My love and hugs to all of you who are hurting - wish I could be there for each of you, to give you what comfort I can. All I can say is that I understand the pain and heartbreak you are feeling and I will be sending prayers to heaven for you, asking God to ease your heartache and to remove any bad memories of their passing and give you peace. Senior Yorkie Talker | My Lilly I just came across your poem this morning...Thank you. I lost my sweet little Lilly last night. I had only had her for three weeks, I knew that she had major helath problems when I brought her home. She had a severe heart murmur and luxatting patellas in both back legs. What none of knew was that her heart was enlarging. I had her to our vet once a week and last night she started having trouble breathing. I rushed her to our vet and he did everyhting he could. But her little heart had enlarged so much just in the past few days since her last visit, that it actually collapsed the trachea. Doc said it was just too sever and she was too ill to save her. My heart is broken. I can't stop crying and I have no idea what to do with myself. I came online to see what others may have experienced and here was your poem. Thank you again.

| Oh Mistyblue - I am so very, very sorry to hear your heartbreaking news - the loss of Lilly. I totally understand how you are feeling - it hurts so terribly and your heart aches so much that you cannot stop the tears. I can only reassure you that it does get easier even though at the time you cannot imagine ever feeling happy again. I hope you have a supportive and kind husband/boyfriend or friend who is able to give you the comfort and love you need. Feel free to unload your grief, memories, or whatever you need to say that may help you, here on YT. I have found people here so supportive and caring. We are here for you, Sweetie. God bless you and I will keep you in my prayers. With love and lots of hugs Yvonne xxx |

| Heres a poem I've kept on my refrigerator with a photo of my little poodle, Joline, since loosing her way back in April 1985. She was 14 yrs old and lost all functions, probably diabetes but not treated like today. I held her in my arms when the injection was administered. It was so painful but I wanted to be with her when she passed. She was so precious to me. It took me 14 yrs later to get another dog and I have 2 little yorkie sisters now, 2 yrs apart ages 8yrs and 10 yrs old I got from pups from their same parents. I dread ever loosing them now. I'm sorry to all those who have lost their pets, here is the poem: MY BEST FRIEND I just lost a special friend Who meant a lot to me. A true companion, always there, She was a dog, you see. If I poured troubles out to her It seemed she understood. She'd lick my hand as if to say "I'd help you if I could." She was so glad when I'd come home Her tail would wag with glee. I think she waited all day long For one small pat from me. She asked for little - gave so much As at my feet she'd lay. How much I miss her, no one knows The ache is there each day. Within my heart I always knew That all good things must end, And I'm grateful for the memories, Sleep well, my little friend. Author Unknown |

| those two poems are so beautiful. my heart goes out to all of you who have lost a beloved furbaby, I know that the pain is so immense and overwhelming. I lost my Molly (a dalmatian/boxer) 5 yrs ago and still think of her daily and send prayers to her. The only comfort i have found is that someday i will see her again, and she will be her usual butt wiggling, tail thumping-self when we do meet again! And she will have her huge boxer smile on her pretty face again. You all and your babies are in my thoughts and prayers.

| A Loan From God A Loan From God God promised at the birth of time a special friend to give, his time on earth is short, he said, so love him while he lives. It may be six or seven years, or twelve or then sixteen, "But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?" A wagging tail and cold wet nose, and silken velvet ears, a heart as big as all outdoors, to love you through the years. His puppy ways will gladden you and antics bring a smile, as guardian or friend he will, be loyal all the while. He'll bring his charms to grace your life, and though his stay be brief, when he's gone the memories, are solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return, but lessons only a dog can teach, I want you each to learn. Whatever love you give to him, returns in triple measure, follow his lead and gain a life, brim full of simple pleasure. Enjoy each day as it comes, allow your heart to guide, be loyal and steadfast in love, as the little dog there by your side. "Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain, nor hate me when I come to call, to take him back again?" I fancy each of us would say, "Dear Lord, thy will be done, for all the joy this day shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run." "We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may, and for the happiness we've known forever grateful stay." But shall the angels call for him, much sooner than we've planned, we'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand. I recieved this poem shortly after I lost my sweet Baby Kosmo at 18 months old. With the recent loss of his precious sister Taffy, yesterday morning, I felt compelled to read it again. |

| Oh, it is such a lovely poem! Thanks for sharing it. I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your baby Kosmo - my heart goes out to you and I send you lots of love and hugs. I find that poems like these really help when your heart is breaking. I hope others will share poems that they have been given here, so the comfort that they give can be shared with all those who are grieving. | These poems were great. Thank you. My Chloe recently lost all four of her pups and, although they were in my life for a short time, I still grieve for them. They passed away on June 30 and July 1 and it took me until now to have the guts to come onto to this website. It is so hard. Hugs and prayers to everyone who is grieving.
