Interested in a Meet-Up in SE, Michigan? - YorkieTalk.com Forums

Hi everyone-
Sissy and I haven't yet met any YT'ers and we would like to get to know some of you and your babies. We have a really nice park (Elizabeth Park) in Trenton right along the Detroit River. There is lots of shade, water and bathrooms and nice scenery usually with lots of recreational boats going by. Elizabeth Park is part of the Detroit Metro-Park facilities, but there is no entrance fee.

Trenton is about 15 miles South of Detroit, miles North of Toledo, and 35 miles East of Ann Arbor. For you Canadians in Ontario, Windsor is just across the Ambassador bridge from Detroit - so add on however far you are from Windsor.

I don't have a specific date in mind, just thought I'd see how many were interested and if this location works and take it from there!

I would be interested. Jeter and I haven't met anyone from YT either, but would love to soon. Let's see if we can't get some additional interest. I know there is a meet-up planned for the Clio area next month, but that is a bit far.

There have been a few looks, but you are the first to respond. Maybe no one wants to meet me & Sissy?!

YT'ers - neither the Windsor nor Toledo areas are too far away either!!

I'd be in... but it's too far away! I haven't seen too many YTers from WI or MI. I can probably count on one hand the number of active members in our states!

maybe we should figure out where some of us are from.. and then plan a meet up in a central area, hopefully it has a park... or what not... then we can get together..
I'm in Holland... We have a dog park here.. my house isn't humungous, but it'd fit people and yorkies I have a fenced in back yard...
put in some info ya'll!!

I know there is going to be a meet-up on July 15th in Clio. I am busy that day or I would go even though it is a little far.

If we can't arrange something soon, check out the thread under Yorkie Fair in Michigan for next May. It will be just outside of Ann Arbor, so still a drive for many of you - but a weekend affair with dog friendly everything.

I think we should make a strong YT presence at the Yorkie Fair. There seem to be many of us in Michigan (although all over the place) and I still contend that for you folks who make yorkie products, this would be a write-off for your businesses and a great chance to meet lots of folks!

I'll talk to my H about the Clio one... It's 2 1/2 hrs for me.. but maybe he'll say it's ok... I'll probably go to the fair next year too, but yeah.. umm, do you know any details about the Clio meetup?

It will be July 15th at 1 pm in Clio. It is being put on by Sarah. You can email her at sarahvine@charter.net for info. It sounds great, but don't know if I will make it.

Hi I've been out of town and away from a computer (staying with Gramma in NY with a dial phone!) Just saw your post.... I know it's late but Chloe, Sissy and I would be interested in a play date. I know the park you are referring to, it's been about 20 years since I've been there tho, do they allow dogs there? Anyway if you put together another group, let me know (P.Jaworski@SBCGlobal.net thanks... We need to be careful to not go home with the wrong Sissy!!! (Joking, Chloe would know the difference!!)
