| What is better! Now that we have lost Dakota we are considering getting Autumn a new friend (another yorkie) what would be better for her another female or a male? I worry because so many people say that the males mark in the house. Any advice? Thanks Amie |

| I got a little sister for my yorkie Phoebe, I know from here that some members have males that they don't mark, but I din't want to take any chances, I love to dress them and having them wear pink and pink bows, my girls are very loving too; so sorry I could help you more I just hope you find the perfect baby girl or boy for Dakota. |

| I love the idea of getting another girl for buying dresses and such, but the males sometimes are momma's boys so you have to take that into consideration too. They can be such lovers. I think that you will be happy with either.

| If you want a male, I would go for it. So far Winstin is great in the house. Plus having him neutered will help the marking issue. I know several people who have boys in the house and they do just fine. I think Winstin will be getting fixed here soon so hopefully the marking will never happen since he has not started. Plus he is such a momma's boy and so loving. He loves to cuddle and be kissed. I never wanted a male dog, but my opinion of them has changed so much. His brother was very hyper and I am glad I did not pick him because he would be to onery.

| All of my furkids seem to end up being BOYS! haha. Springer-boy Pom-boy Malamute-boy 2 golden retrievers-boys! kitty cat-boy Yorkie-boy! Luckily my two skin kids are girls! I am wanting to get a little girl Yorkie to mix up my string of little boys! But, all in all, the boys have been wonderfull! I wouldn't trade them for anything!

| I'd go for a boy. They are so much more affectionate. There big momma's boys.

| I have a male yorkie and a female maltese, and they get along beautifully. I agree that boys are big time mommy's boys and very affectionate, and girls are more like little princesses but still very affectionate. I think it mostly has to do with that particular dog's personality, not necessarily the sex. To answer your question about marking...Many male dogs do not mark at all as long as they are neutered by six months. Miko wasn't able to be neutered until he was 1 yr old due to medical issues, and he never ever marks inside the house.
