We had one we used for about 6 months. It attaches with straps around the back of the console. We didn't care for it though as the sides coolaped down out of shape after a while. Teddy did love to sit there though and was very happy when I made him a bigger one with more rigid sides. I bought a basket with a metal frame lined it with non collaping foam and covered it with a cute material. He absolutely lived in it literally for 20 days 10 hours or more a day on our trip from Alaska to Georgia. It help up really well and he still loves to get in it when we get in the car.

I think the console seat will fit most cars if you buy the smaller one. I don't know about the larger one as we had the small one. I did not like how it sat on top of the console. The bottom of it is not flat. It has a foam part that comes down further in the back and forces it to sit further back. I think I get the reasoning but it just didn't work too well in my opinion.

I love mine! I have the smaller console one. It works great and haven't had any problems with it.

What kinds are best and I still don't understand how they attach to the console. We have a 3/4 ton 4 door truck, so I'm guessing the SUV size would fit.

The one I have is a snoozer or lookout, something like that. The common one advertised. There are straps on the bottom of the seat that you attach to the driver's and front passenger's seats where they are attached to the floor of the car. You wrap them around the "legs" of those seats there.

There are 2 straps at the bottom of the carseat. One on each side. They are pretty long. I don't know for sure if I did it correctly but I threaded mine through the sides of the fold down console and clipped around the metal base of the saet. We had it in our suburban which had bench seat all the way accross with a fold down console in the middle. We had the console folded down with the seat on top of that.

I hope I didn't just confuse you more! LOL

Yes, please let me know. If it fits your Denali, I'm sure it'll fit out truck. What kind did you order?

I have the Snoozer small console and I love it for Izzy - now I have a Ford Focus and it has a small console but we were able to get it on and secure with no problem. I'll try to get pics this weekend and post of her in it.

Could you tell me how you made the one you made? I want to have one for Max, but my husband and I both have Jaguar xk-8's (don't even ask ), and the console itself isn't all that bigand runs between the two bucket seats. I was wanting to make something myself that would fit there but be sturdy enough (I totally understand the collapsing sides issue, b/c I've got a carrier like that) so that he'd be comfortable and feel secure. I just don't know what to use! I'd appreciate any directions you could give me! Thank you! Seana

I got everything from Walmart. I'm sure you could get it from any craft or fabric store too. I bought a basket that fit on my console. I know was bigger but I'm sure you can find a basket that will fit, they make all shapes and sizes. The basket looed like any regular basket but had a metal frame. I thought that would be best for durability and safety. I bought, some chair cussion non-collapsing foam (not really like foam, it's hard to explain but you can find it in the sewing section at Walmart) Lined the the basket floor and all 4 inside sides of the basket and then just made a cover out of a cute fabric to cover the whole thing.

I will get some pics together and post them here in a little while.

Kim, thank you for describing it to me. I will see what I can find at my Walmart today. I'd love to make one and see if it helps at all with Max's extreme anxiety when we're in the car!

I think I have just the regular size Lookout and it fits great in my Tahoe. But no, it probably doesn't work well with all vehicles (especially cars). The longer part in the back is supposed to keep it from sliding forward. It's a little confusing trying to explain how to attach it but I think some others have said it well enough. There's also a strap at the front of it that is supposed to slip under the top of the console (if it's the kind that opens). I actually think it's quite a pain to put it in and take it out so what we do is just slide it backwards and let it sit on the backseat floorboard - but it's still attached by the side straps to the front two seats. Does that make sense? Then when we want to use it, we slide it back up and maybe tighten the straps a little and attach that front strap under the console top.

Tatum truly LOVES her carseat and it's a great idea to have one.
