| At what age did you get your little girl spayed? hi, to you all. i am thinking of getting my little bella spayed. she is only 5mths just now but at what age is it best also is it a fairly safe operation because i am so worried about it. i would rather not put her through it but have heard that it is better for her as i have no intention of breeding her. my next problem is i also have her brother mickey, and am worried sick about her getting pregnant. any advice would be appreciated. thanks x |

| I had Dior spayed at 6 months and she did very well. She was up and trying to do everything the next morning.

| when dior was spayed had she had a season? i am so worried about it as i couldnt bear to lose her( i am a worrier ). have spoken to the vet couple of weeks ago and i am taking both mickey and bella when they are 24wks to get them checked and discuss options. vet said bella would be in surgery for couple hours . i am worried as this seems an awful lot for her to go through. |

| My Vet said that I can't have Kalina spayed until her canines come out (the long, pointy ones) and are replaced with the second canines. She will be 6 mos. on October 1 and still has her baby canines though she has lost lots of the other teeth. I have never heard this before, but he was adamant about it, so I'm passing it along just FYI.

| Shelby Rose was spayed at six months and my vet said it only takes about 20-30 minutes and they're done. She had to stay overnight though but came home the next day with five days worth of pain meds. She was back to her old self running around the day after she got home. (She even seemed herself the first day but I held her most of the day since I missed her being gone).

| I had Roo scheduled for an appointment at the vet at 6 1/2 months or so and they called and told me they thought i should wait since none of her canines or bigger teeth had fallen out yet and they didn't want to pull them because it can effect how the adult teeth came in. so i think it depends if you're planning to have teeth pulled! My vet didn't want her to be put through two operations so we're going to try again after we get home from the honeymoon (will put her around 9ish months). |

| Momiji got her spay at 10 month old. My vet wanted to wait until she gain more weight... (He wanted to wait until she was 3lb..) But since she didn't gain, I decide to go ahead do it since her baby teeth were coming out and had adult teeth coming out behind the baby teeth... She did great and didn't even need pain medication afterward. I was very worry but she came home after the surgery!!! Talk to your vet to make sure he/she is comfortable with the surgery and talk what they are planning to do. Good luck. |

| thankyou all so much. since all your babies came through surgery ok it has gave me a bit more confidance. my vet is great. i have taken all my pets there over the last 15yrs. vet didnt mention anything about teeth. maybe when i take bella and mickey in next few weeks i will find out all about it.also was wondering how many stitches your babies had and do they just dissolve? just not sure why my vet said operation would take about 2hrs.seems a long time.x |

| Maybe you could ask him why he thinks it will take 2 hours, which seems long.
