| Is there such thing? I'm currently searching for my first yorkie (I am also new to YorkieTalk!). I've emailed and asked a million questions to many breeders for the past month. However, I am concerned about one breeder. Her email states that her yorkie has a different coat of hair (read below): "Becky is an unregistered yorkie. She is not crossed with any other breed. Becky has a soft coat or some people call it a 'cotton coat'. She has fluffy soft hair...it is non shedding. This type of coat gives you the 'teddy bear' look." I've never heard of a purebred Yorkshire Terrier with a soft/cotton/fluffy coat before. Am I wrong to second-guess this breeder? Do you think this yorkie was crossed with another breed? (See attachment - she is adorable, though!) D |

| Yorkies can have cotton coats or silk coats. Silk coats are prefered. Cotton coats have matting problems

| Monday has a cottony coat, with the proper grooming, she does not tangle up ... Her coat is soft and fluffy and she has floppy ears also ... and I love her to bits ... Friday has more of a straight coat and I groom her the same as I do Monday .... Friday has the stand up ears ... I love her to bits also ... They are both pure bred ... see my avatar ....
