| heat questions mocha has been in heat for about a week now and her symptoms include: -tiredness, lethargic, "bored". it seems like she has no energy at all--or at least not as much. -not much of an appetite. she doesn't eat that much regularly, and this past week, she barely touches her food unless i sit there and force feed it to her. -lots of licking. every 20 or so minutes. are these symptoms normal? if not, should i be concerned? it seems like she's sick or doesn't feel well, but i want to make sure it's because she's in heat and not something else before i run myself worried and rush her to the vet. thanks, worried first time mommy

Being lethargic would concern me. Princess lays around a lot, and won't eat much, but in no way is she lethargic. She's been really hot these pass few days because of our weather. You can always try ice cream Princess loves ice cream, heat or no heat Hang in there, it's a long three weeks.

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | I'm not sure if it's normal but i have heard a lot of the symptoms described here before with a heat. My Daisy is in heat right now as well but she is acting normal the only changes i've noticed is she is more lovey towards me and more aggressive towards Peeka. She licks a lot and keeps very clean but she is eating normal. She is a little more vocal than normal with barking and whining. I hope someone can answer your question better.
