| HELP! I'm so worried about my baby! Today in the morning, Bobby threw up this foamy liquid from his mouth. Then about 10 minutes ago, he threw up this light greenish-brown mixture, which smelled like his food (Canidae). I heard this churning sound coming from him right before he hacked it all up. Anyone ever seen something like that? Any suggestions would be helpful!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sounds like when mine have a tummy upset. Their tummies make funny noises and they throw up. Have you changed his diet or given him people food? This can upset their tummies. Sometimes they just get sick. How old is he? If he is young and tiny you should call the vet and see what they say. I hope he feels better soon.

| If he threw up the frothy egg white looking stuff then it's probably because he's been trying to empty his anal sacs by licking them. This is a normal thing, the reason they throw up is because the liquid in their anal sacs tastes absolutely horrible (it would, coming from the anal area... *shudder*) which in turn makes them vomit!

| He's 5 months old so he's pretty young. I haven't changed his eating schedule, which is Canidae ALS. My boyfriend's mother gave him so chicken about 3 days ago but I'm not sure if it's that. I called the vet & she told me to fast him for a day but give him water. If it happens again, save some vomit & bring that & Bobby in. I'm so worried!

Yup! Pretty gross right? I didn't know about it either until my vet told me. He also said that's the main cause of bad breath in little dogs... Needless to say I brush the babies' mouths pretty often after hearing that! lol

Donating YT 30K Club Member | One of my 3 can't tolerate chicken and gets tummy troubles from it. I have instituted a strict no human foods policy to help stop all the tummy issues they were all having,

| Called the vet again today & she said if he did it again tomorrow then bring him in. I thought it was when he ate human food since my boyfriend gave him a piece of sausage. And then I saw a piece of corn in his poop! I didn't even know where it came from! I was so scared! I know dogs aren't allowed to have corn. Any other suggestions? Thank you all for your help!

| This was started yesterday....how is he today? Has he eaten yet? I personally do not agree with fasting a little breed like this!! Not for 24 hours! So I'm concerned with how he's doing today? I have two who throw up once in a while....and it is yellow, bile, foamy stuff. It is because their tummies are empty. I started to regularly syringe feed my puppy, Gemma, before bed and in the AM. Then I went to just before bed because that was the longest time she'd be without food. My 3.5 yr old, for some reason, loses her desire for food and if she goes too long (all day) she will vomit also. I coax her to eat with livewurst or baby hotdogs. It took me a while to figure out what my babies needed but I feel comfortable now about knowing what they need

| Yeah, I didn't exactly follow instructions and I gave him a small handful of kibble and then my BF gave him a small piece of sausage. He was running around & fine & then he just threw up. I'm keeping track of him so I'll see how he is tonight & tomorrow & if it happens again he's going to the vet.

| Exact same things has happened with ours since we got her. She's 9 mos. old and we figured out early on that when her tummy is empty, she will throw up bile (the yellow, greenish, foamy stuff) and will be nauseated until we can manage to get something into her tummy which settles it down and then she will eat normally. So we feed her more often than the standard doggy books say. I think many of them suffer with this same thing. Anyway, we found the way to cure this is to never let their tummies get too empty! When they are little, don't go past 6 hours with nothing to eat. As they get older, don't go past 8 hours. For us, our dog will eat broken pieces of plain rice cakes, or honey-nut cheerios which seem to settle her tummy and after a few minutes, she starts to feel better and we can get her to eat her normal food. After that, she's fine. We do just fine with this method. And for the most part, she only does this a couple of times a month when we haven't been vigilent with her feeding schedule. |
