| Stay away from yorkiepup.com!! This is a sad story, please help! My name is Kellyn Crowder and I'm 22, I purchased a tea-cup yorkie from yorkiepup.com located in Texas. Jeff Dane, who is the breeder, sold me a 2.1lb puppy who arrived to me in Colorado on 7/28/2007 very sick. I did everything for the little guy I could, but he died on 8/4/2007 and Jeff Dane is taking NO responsibility. I have never owned a pet, and my fiance bought him for me as a present because we are moving and I've been sad about leaving my friends and family of 22 years. It was my baby, I only had him for 6 days, but he had a beg bed, toys galore, lots of food, designer clothes and he didn't spend a minute away from me, he was the first thing I've ever received unconditional love from and I'm beyond devastated:0( The puppy was diagnosed with blood in his lungs and died in ICU from pnemonia. This isn't about getting our money back or thousands of dollars lost in one week of vet bills, this is about a horrible man running a puppy mill, broken hearts and most importantly...those poop puppies he sells. I have no expierence with this type of situation and need help. Does anyone know of anyone/anywhere I can turn to for assistance or what is the appropriate path to persue when it comes to a matter such as this? I am devastated and heartbroken...please help! fell free to email me or call me with any assistance, God bless you all for even reading this. Sincerley, Kellyn Crowder 303-532-9839 kelbaby31@aol.com |

| Honey, if you do a search on that name here at this site, you'll see that many have had your same experience. Good luck. I'm very sorry for your horrible experience, and your loss.

| Oh, honey I am so sorry for your loss. No one should have to go thru that. Please use the search option and search for Jeff or his business. I know you find lots of info on him & maybe some ways to get your $ back or options to continue to put the word out. (I just read about him from someone else in the last week or so) I'm glad you found yorkietalk, even if it was thru a difficult situation. Here you will find information on finding a reputable breeder, perhaps a new baby to love & many good friends I hope someday you can find room in your heart to love another yorkie; they are really wonderful dogs! yorkiesmiles Last edited by yorkiesmiles; 08-06-2007 at 11:20 PM. |

| I'm not so sure about the laws in the USA so well, but if you guys have something like a citizens advice bueru, where you get free legal advice- I would go there and see what they say. Do you have any proof of purchase, shipping records, vet bills? Ask your vet to help you with this- you will need absolute proof that this could have only have come from the breeder. Sorry to hear about your poor doggy- This is why I avoid pet stores when i holiday in the USA. |

| I am so sorry this happened to you! I can only imagine your heartbreak. You may try contacting an attorney to find out what course to pursue. If enough people did something (and there have been many, many that this has happened to) maybe something could be done to stop this from happening again. The news media is also a good outlet. Let us know what happens.

| I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Unfortunately that man is known for not caring about his animals. I would file reports with the Better Business Bureau and ripoffreport.com for starters. Also, since he sells online check with what federal laws he's breaking and file complaints with them. Selling sick animals is against the law. The more you tell your story and get the word out the more it will hurt his business(which is a d*ng good thing!) When your heart heals and you can save up again(although I hope you do get your money back, try contacting a lawyer for a free consult) then check out the for sale posts on yorkietalk, a lot of good people here have puppies for sale. At least your baby felt loved before he passed. Also, I believe he would have vet records or shot records. Did you get any of those? Send a letter to his vet letting him know that Jeff is selling sick animals and tell your story. Which ever registry your puppy was registered with, contact them too with a letter telling how sick your baby was and send a letter from your vet too.

| Kellyn, First I want to say how sorry I am for your loss. What a terrible thing to have to go through. A couple questions: What kind of paperwork did your baby come with? A health certificate? A guarentee? Shot records? Pedigree? If you got any of these, you can turn to them for some help or at least find out about what happened to your baby before it wa shipped to you. You have come to the right place for help. YorkieTalk will give you all the help and support that you will need. There are many breeders, large and small, that are on here, that can give send you in the right direction if you are wanting another puppy. I am a small breeder in Florida and have puppies, but I do NOT ship my babies. Again, I am sorry, and if there is anything I can do, please PM me and I will help all that I can. On a happier note, go to the nursery forum and you can see pictures of my Lexie's babies...she had 7 on 7-17-07 we are soooo proud of them.

| I hope you won't judge all breeders in Texas because of Jeff Dane. He is infamous for being a Puppy Mill and mistreating puppies and customers alike. I hope you pursue this man and get your money back! Be sure to check here for advise on reputable breeders when you start your search for another baby. I am so sorry for your loss.
