| How do you stop a puppy mill? I think I found a puppy mill not too far from where we live. They have cages set up in the front and back yards full of dogs. I couldn't get too close to the property, but from what I could see, it appeared that there were multiple breeds of dogs, perhaps Yorkies and Malteses. I feel sorry for the dogs because they obviously are kept outside with little interaction with their human owners. How do I find out if this is a puppy mill? And if it is, how do I get them shut down? |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | you can complain to your local authorities - but its really HARD To shut down a mill and can take years - if these people are neglecting the dogs they can come inspect based on your complaint - the other thing is you can write your state government for stricter laws and the USDA's failure to enforce the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). www.house.gov www.senate.gov We have a site called Millbusters you can join and there's alot of info on that site - it's a sister site to YT and we'd love to see you there - http://www.millbusters.com/forums/index.php Poor dogs - I hate hearing about them living outside |

| It is a puppy mill. No question. The problem is our government in this country. At both the state and government level, they are spineless! I wish you luck. If you know the name of the "BREEDER" or the name of their "BREEDING FACILITY" you can contact probably the USDA and find out when and if they were last inspected. You might want to review this site: http://www.hsus.org/pets/issues_affe...lls/index.html
