| Please tell me about Nutri-Cal When I got Kalina from the breeder she gave me a tube of Nutri-Cal and told me to give her some if she seemed to be getting hypoglycemic and then to feed her immediately after. I have never had any problem with Kalina appearing to be hypoglycemic- nor have I had a problem with her eating. She eats every meal I give her with gusto. What exactly is Nutri-Cal used for? Is it a daily supplement? Should I be giving her some everyday? How do you all use it? TIA

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Nope if she is ill, or hypo, misses a meal, something like that then give nutrical. If she is on a premium dog food and eats well no need for it! Hope that helps!

| i keep Nutra cal on hand at all times. I never, ever give it unless the puppy is sick, hypoglycemic, not eating. Some people say they give it two or three times a day as a routine. That makes me cringe!!!!!!!!!! it can cause the puppy to become diabetic because of the sudden increases in their sugar level. from what you have said about your puppy, she doesn't need it. |

| I was thinking of getting some in before i collect Pixie ( in 5 and a half wks time! lol ) I'm not sure if it is a necessity or not but i thought it might be wise to have some handy 'just in case' But i'm not sure where to find this in the UK...does anyone know where i can get some from or something similar?

| I keep it on hand just in case. I only gave it to Piper once, because he didn't want to eat his dinner.

| It's good to have on hand just in case your pup misses a meal or refuses food. But if your baby is eating all of his/her meals, then there's really no need. You can add a vitamin supplement if you want, but don't give nutri-cal everyday.

| Just like most people here, its good to keep on hand just in case your little one is not eating or starting stages of hypoglycemia are kicking in. In that case, immediately give your dog some Nutri-cal, nutra stat, or even Karo Syrup. The key is glucose (sugar). anyway, sounds like your babies are doing great!
