| Lillybelle fell apart during fireworks last night! We had a lovely July 3rd. Nice picnic spot, food, chairs, blanket, trees, creek nearby. Beautiful weather, breeze...park surrounded by dozens of flags and one huge American flag, and a huge old military helicoptor in our fairly new park. As the afternoon went on, the park filled, friends strolled by, Lillybelle loved the people, kids and activity. The symphony played...... By 9:30pm...darkness settled, the huge display of fireworks started and her panic began....her total bliss....turned into terror...with every thump in the sky her body flinched....she went between hiding her head under my arm and looking out at the sky...we had to, in quite a rush....grab everything up... And get to the quiet of the car.... Then "home again-safe at last". |

| soo right too night Last night just the sounds from the fair grounds 10 miles away Teddy went off. I wrote a post a few days ago. Sounds like we are all in the same boat tonight. I took teddy to the most quiet room in the house. turned on the fans. and the t.v. gave him a bully stick and held him for the hour, kept his little mind on his treat (that hes NOT to get any more)" moms got to do what a moms got to do" in these desperate times Here to lots of back ground noise all day |

| They say this is the holiday where more dogs run away than any other. Poor sweeties. Maxwell seems oblivious to loud noises - probably because our house is being remodelled and the daily noise is bad enough. |

| Poor baby. I am so worried about how Gracie will react tonight. This is her first real July 4th. I'm sure there will be lots of cuddling and ice cream at our house!

| Both of my girls are scared to death of thunder and firecrackers. Last night when the firecrackers started both jumped straight up from their sleep. Emmy came immediately to me and got in my lap. She hid her face under my arm. Alyssa started shaking. I am sure the noise is so much worse for them than for people. I just hope the 4th is relatively calm and quiet around here as far as fireworks go. All we can do is hold and cuddle them and reassure them that everything will be ok.

| That's too bad!! Tucker was OK with the fireworks until a lit ember (pretty big, too) landed in our midst and we humans freaked a bit. I guess we were way too close. We left and watched from a greater distance but he still panicked when the finale came and there were rapid succession booms. Poor little guy!

| We did fireworks with the girls last night too. At first they were startled but I held them calmly and Zsa-Zsa settle down. Eva however was ready to attack the ppl setting the fireworks off! She was pretty sure she was going to take a leg off the next person who lit one of those nasty, loud, bright things.

| Watch it at home I don't know if this would work, but maybe you should watch the fireworks on the tv and turn the sound up so that it is near what it would sound like outside so that it will desensitize him/her. my 2 cents... |

| Bridget's been fine around fireworks. She doesn't love them but she deals with them. My brother/sister in law's golden Gunner wants to eat them damn dog barks and tries to chase them. This is Bella's first 4th of July and she's been okay so far. A lil startled but otherwise okay.
