| Ears stand up at what age? Luna is approaching 14 weeks. Her ears seem to be wanting to stay up but the tips just flop down anyway. Her ears only stay up if she has her head tilted slightly back/ looking up to me. So, I was wondering at around what age do their ears stand up on their own?

| Gypsy's ears had stood up by this age but Gizzie's did not!! Luna's will I'm quite sure 'cos Gizzie's were like that (as she looked up they stood up!) she is now 4 months and they will (I'm quite confident never go down!) We had a previous yorkie, however and his ears made a sort of attempted try at going upright but it was never to be!! Everyone said what a gorgeous boy he was!! Does sound as if Luna's ears will go upright though - this is exactly what happened with Gizzie! Luna is young yet - with Gizzie I always thought she had lots of "spring" in her ears - is this the case with Luna? Last edited by Gypsy Rose; 11-23-2004 at 09:52 AM. |

| Well, one week Luna's right ear stayed completely standing up even when the other would stay down. But they are now the same height. They are perky but the tips still stay down. Only time will tell...

| When i got Mojo, he was 4 months and 21 days and his ears were like that...i got sooo sad but the breeder explained to me that it was happening because he was teething and it would get better. All i could do was tape the ears and make sure it was always trimmed, the hair the weight it down. |

| Snoodles went up at about 4 months. It was almost over night. I did keep them trimmed both inside and outside. Good Luck! It sounds like they will go up soon! Pat |

| Toto's were up when we brought her home at 16 wks. ... the breeder said they had just come up. She also said that if the ear hair was allowed to grow long that the weight would pull them back down and they wouldn't come back up. Hers are like little antenna's ... but sometimes they seem to be "looking" around like a periscope on a submarine!!

| Mei Mei's also went up at 4 months of age. When I first got her at 13 weeks, both of them kept going up and down for 3 weeks. I just make sure the upper 1/3 of the ear is shaved down.

| When we first brought Hercules home almost 2 weeks ago, his right ear would not go up and his left would. Now both are starting to go up. But I kinda liked it when only one would go up! |
