| My Puppy Died!! I am sobbing my eyes out right now...my heart hurts so bad!! I was excitedly expecting an email from my breeder today to tell me whether she could fly Maxx home sooner then we planned and when I opened the email I was told that my baby boy Maxx had died through the night!!! I am so devastated!!!! He'd had surgery last week to fix his biligual hernias and to neuter him. I spoke with the vet who performed it yesterday and she reassured me that he'd grow up to be a healthy little man. I will copy and paste the email I just received for you to read. I am hurting so much!! Morning Tammy, Gosh I don't have a clue how to give you this news.My brother works for us and helps us with the dogs/puppies. He brought max in yesterday early afternoon, said he wasn't 'Looking right'. He was in respiratory distress, I gave him a broad spectrum antibiotic and some nose drops due to the horrible congestion. I'd planned to take him to the vet this morning, he'd not made it through the night. I called the vet, she asked if he'd had all his 'puppy shots' and yes he had. She said there's an upper respiratory virus that is fatal if not caught in time. We checked him the evening before and he was playing and doing all the' feisty puppy stuff'. He was fine Wed. evening and was looking like he wasn't feeling really good just a little before my brother brought him in to me. It turned out to be a lot worse than any of us thought. Puppies just can't fight even colds off sometimes and it must have turned into pneumonia, his lungs filled up with pus and he just died. He didn't appear to be in any pain, just some diffuculty breathing due to what we all thought was a regular cold. He'd always been 'just the picture of health. I'm feeling SO HORRIBLE about this as I would with any puppy, we all do and it's a very rare thing to lose them at that age. Wayne and I will let you have any of the other males, priced at the regular of $950.00, we will let you have your choice for the same price as Max was. We have four and they are all very tiny little guys, and will be very small adults as well. Two were born on 4-17, Jessie and James. Then the other two, travis and Justin, were born on 4-13. They will be old enough to ship by the same time you wanted Max, or really close anyway. If you want to go on Puppyfind to see more pictures of the they will probably be close to the front pages. *I'm not sure if I should give their names or not, so I'll leave that out. I don't know what to do. She attached along with the email pictures of the other puppys but I'm not sure if I want to get another baby from them. More importantly, they're not Maxx!! I have stared at his pictures for so many hours and dreamed about meeting HIM!! I want my baby boy!! I don't know what to do. I put a deposit on Maxx...not sure if I should just ask for it back and try to find another furbaby somewhere else. Don't know what to do! I'm hurting and in shock!!!! I want my Maxx!! I can't help but feel if he'd been home here with his Mommy that he would've been OK!! How my heart is breaking!!! Be at Peace My Beautiful Little Maxx

| Oh Tammy, I am so sorry to have just read that I can't imagine how you are feeling. My advice is to look elsewhere for another puppy -- if that is what you decide you want -- they probably should have taken him to the vet as soon as they knew he was feeling ill. You will be in my thoughts.

| Oh Tammy, my heart breaks for you! I would suggest getting your money back and finding a local puppy that doesn't need to be flown to you. You poor thing. I am sure you will feel the kindness of a lot of people in this forum. I sure hope it helps your heart a little. Wish you the very best... Julz |

| So Very Sorry Honey, I'm so sorry. I just lost my little girl, she died very suddenly and I know how much it hurts. It's the worst feeling you can have. I know you are shocked and angry. I was suppose to get another pup but she died at 4 weeks, and then another was promised and stolen before I could pick him up. Things happen and puppies die, don't let that stop you from picking out another puppy, God gives us the pups that are right for us and Maxx must have been one he decided to keep for himself. You are lucky that you can get another so quickly and you already have a hearful of love to share with a new baby - that puppy will be so lucky and so very spoiled, I bet on it! Cry and mourn, you deserve it and so does Maxx, but share that heart and be glad that another baby is close at hand and waiting for its new mommy to find it! You can put up a tribute on RIP forum, there are some great people there that will console you and cry with you. God Bless. Windy |

| So sorry Oh, how tragic, I am so sorry. I don't have any advice whether you should take one of the other males or get your money back. Just wanted to say sorry.

| That is heartbreaking. I feel terrible for your loss. I'm not really sure what I would do in your situation, but I would not make any decisions today. Let yourselve grieve for Maxx and then decide how you want to proceed. I am sorry for your loss & best of luck whatever you decide.

| Oh, how I cried when I read your post. I am so sorry you are going through this. Our puppy Bandit was only with us a month when he died, and I know how you feel. It is a loss, and you have to mourn him. But, Maxx will always be in your heart and he will always be "your" puppy. I immediatly said I would never get another puppy, but one month later we have picked out a little guy we named Tucker. I will never forget Bandit and you will never forget Maxx, but you do have so much love in your heart that you can share with another furbaby. Take your time, you will know when you are ready. In the mean time you and Maxx will be in our prayers.

| I'm so sorry you had to go through this. I would look for another puppy elsewhere. They will hopefully give you your deposit back, afterall that would be the right thing to do. Everything will be just fine and Max will always live through his pictures. Best wishes to you. Hugs,

| I was so sorry to read your news. Like others, I really have no advice for you. You first must mourn what you lost before deciding on your next step. Do what feels right to you! |

| My heart goes out to you, I know what it is to lose a puppy. Initially, you feel like no other puppy can take his place, just give yourself some time to get over the loss and clear your head a little, then decide what you would like to do.. I hope you decide to get another puppy soon.. You sound like you are going to be a great mom and there is a lucky little puppy out there waiting for you. |
