| Do your Yorkies learn from your other dogs? I was just curious if when I get my yorkie, is our lab is going to teach her some of her own bad habbits? ...begging for one!! |

| In my experience dogs have different personalities ..... but if u bring a baby to the house he most likely will follow your other dog It depends on what habits though....for example a Lab may get restless because he doesn't get enough exercise but the yorkie would get plenty around the house ..if this makes sense |

BANNED! | I would say "Yes they learn from each other both the good as well as any bad habits. To be honest they even develop their own habits and teach the bigger dog a few new tricks, lol. Its up to you which ones you will allow them to get away with or not. Good luck!!!! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Well, I have Maya my pomeranian who is a terrible barker, when I got Cali 2 years ago Iwas worried she would pick up the habit but she hasn't. Then I got Pixie in January and she was already 13 months old and just recently she has been barking /screaming whenever Maya does. So I think iot does depend on their personalities. Cali is real laid back and Pixie is a ball of fire.

| Well, hopefully she doesn't pick up the worst of it....I'll have to be tight with her about what I don't want her picking up from Rascal(lab). The biggest thing right now that I can think of...without having her yet...is begging and barking. both which Rascal do, and I don't want her begging because too many scraps aren't good for little bodies....I'll have to keep some treats special for her after mealtime or something!! | I would say based on my experience. Yes! My new little baby picked up the BAD habits right away. The better ones were picked up but not quite as quickly.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | My older pups who get quite excited when me or hubby come in the door (they over-bark) have taught the 6 week old puppies to bark when we come in and jump up and down in their xpen--lol just like the older guys. My wonderful webmaster has updated my website--I can't figure out how to video and post--so you can see them all doing this from 6 weeks to 2 years. |

| I'm convinced they do. I had a collie that had been with us for about 6 years. I was volunteering at the animal shelter and ended up bringing home a rescue. The collie house trained the rescue puppy. Guess she didn't want puppy messes in her house |

| My mom had a 3 year old Female Shih Tzu when I got my boys... we used to take them walking a lot.... her dog started lifting her leg to pee! My mom was horrified in a funny way! She'd say "Chablis!!! Act like a lady!" but we think she learned that from watching my boys lift their legs to pee! |

| Oh yes, They do, indeed, learn from each other. Cassie was two when we got Ivan. Up until then we didn't think she even liked to bark. In fact I doubt that she barked more than 10 times in that first 2 years. Well, Ivan changed that. He is territorial and even people walking down the sidewalk in front of our house will get an earful. Cassie doesn't over due it like he does but she barks a lot more now. Cassie kind of raised Ivan so it didn't surprise us that he started greeting us with a toy in his mouth like she does. It has to be a stuffed toy and you have to take it from them or they will keep bugging you till you do. Adie idolizes Cassie and we are seeing more and more behaviors that she learned from her. She now barks when the doorbell rings among others. I have always noted that my dogs have always learned to walk on a leash from the dog that was there when we got them. I have never had to leash train. They heal, sit when I stop, and keep right beside me. They ignore other dogs and children while walking too. Lucky me huh? I don't care if they pick up each others habits - it is too much fun to see it! |
