| Look at this.... If you would look at this link http://www.thegreensheet.com/houston...ds/?exp=340666 It shows AKC yorkies. BUT my question is if that "white looking" yorkie is the mom or the dad then can they be AKC? Just curious as I thought they had to be "standard colors" or something. I am not sure exactly about standards but I just thought I'd ask, I've never seen a yorkie this color.

| Yorkies do tend to lighten up with age and if they used a flash it would lighten her up even more. Our first Yorkie was very light, he started out black and tan and by the time he was 2 he was very light tan and silver. |

| Well I don't know if its actually a yorkie or not, but I think I have the answer to your question of it can be AKC. I believe that any yorkie from AKC parents can be AKC registered, even if they aren't standard. However, only standard yorkies can be shown.

| OK THANKS! That makes total sense to me then. Can they be registered AKC if it is a yorkie maltese mix?? Say if the maltese and the yorkie are both AKC registered and they got together??

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | malkie (the cross of both breeds) can not be registered with AKC...but there is a club that will registered these "designer breed" if both the sire and dam are registered.
