I'm moving next week!!! YYYAAAYY I'm moving next Thursday to my home..no more renting for me Anyway I have a feeling my babies are going to be home sick so you know I had to come to YT and ask the experts I will be home for 1 week so they will not be alone at the new house. I want to know what can I do to get them use to our new place. I think Timmy will do alot better than Mimi....I know she is going to cry and she's going to be terrified of the stairs. We do not have stairs at our place now. Any suggestions will help me a bunch.

Congrats on being a home-owner!!! i am so jealous! Tucker and i recently moved to a rented trailer. my former landlord decided he didn't want tucker in the house anymore. anyway, our biggest problem was with the pottying. i trained tucker to go outside, but this is an old trailer with lots of interesting scents, i'm sure, and so he is having problems with that he wasn't really scared of the new place. i guess cause it was all the same old stuff- just in a new place. so maybe if you surround your babies with familiar things and set boundaries, they'll love the new place, too. it's good that you'll be home with them for a week. i'm sure that will help a lot! good luck!

Congratulations on your new home. That's so exciting. Your pups will adjust easily. Give them a couple of days to wonder around and check things out and before you know it they will be right at home. I moved with a 14yr old. He adjusted immediately. As long as I was there he knew that is where he belonged. Carol & Buddy

| When we went to a house from an apartment with a screened in porch, the furbabies loved it. Since it was a brand new house there were no previous "smells" for them to be affected into a bad behavior. I'd just watch your kiddos and while they may be afraid of the stairs, they may get use to them. We bought small stairs for our yorkie to get up and down from our bed and he used them immediately but our maltese will not use them at all!!! Go Figure why! Anyway, I am sure they will be a bit scared at first but will settle in nicely in a few days. Oh and congrats on the new home!

Thanks everyone!!! I am so excited!! This is going to be a BIG change for them...going from an apartment that is probably 700 sq feet to a house that is 1800 sq feet is a big change. They will have so much room to run around and their own fenced in yard. I'm really looking forward to that!! I will keep everyone updated.

I don’t really think you will have any problems because all your stuff is going to be moved to the new place, so much will be familiar. I have moved with my babies before and all of them found it quite exciting and settled right in. A lot of sniffing and exploring but they all seemed to know exactly where the property line was from back to front! Always thought that was curious! Good luck in your new house and I just know your kids are going to love it!
