| A lost of trust? I hope someone can help here! Like a week and a half ago, when i was not at home, I guess there was a family argument. When the people in my family get into fights, we raise our voices reallllly loud. anyways, apparently Peanut got so scared he ran into a corner to hide. they told me he was shaking real bad ; ( There have been some changes since. Now when we talk really loud, or joke realllllly loud that it seems like we might be fighting, Peanut hides in all types of places with his tail tucked down ; ( also, he used to try and steal my food during dinner, and now even when i offer it to him, he doesnt come to take it unless i tempt him for a long time... i mean, he still loves us and everything (like he still gets sooo excited when he sees us and when we play with him), but there are some changes. what can i do to regain his trust?? btw, he is almost 8 months old now -Peggy |

| I feel so bad for him. Obviously the loundness of all of your voices frightened him. It is possible to talk in lower voices? I guess some pups are more sensitive to sound than others. Perhaps he thought he was being scolded. I hope someone else can come up with other suggestions for you. Carol & Buddy |

| I would just hold him and give him plenty of reassurance, maybe talk loudly or shout while holding and petting him, so he knows there is nothing to be afraid of. |

| I know this is going to sound crazy but one day I was having a really hard time getting my patio door to close...and it really frustrated me and I started yelling in the air and was so angry. Well, I looked and saw my little guy all scared on the couch trying to hide...I felt so bad. I immediately stopped what I was doing and went over to him to reassure him I was not yelling at him and he did nothing wrong. He was fine after that and has been fine ever since. So, the next time he acts scared I would just reassure him everything is OK and see if it helps. Hopefully he will be his usual self again soon.

| I agree, I think all you can do is give him loves and reassurance. Alphy has done this a time or too, it's odd. He's usually really friendly. I can have some people over and he doesn't do a thing. Other times I'll find him hiding in my room in the corner of my bed. It's like he's selective. I think he's just got some sixth sense about things.

| The same thing has happened at our house Now if we start raising our voices, Lily will lower her head and act so scared. I immediately stop whatever I am doing and pick her up. She doesn't seem to mind the arguing so much if I am holding her!!! I shouldn't act like that is funny, really it's not. They are just like kids and we shouldn't fight in front of them. But we are human and we will disagree. They don't seem to mind disagreeing with each other in front of US!!!

| That happens every now and then here as well. Mollie is my nervous one. She hates loud noises and especially thunder storms. I was in the shower this morning and I heard a big clap of thunder it scared me. When I got out of the shower she was in front of the tub. We just talk to her calmly and try to get her through it. I'm sorry I'm of absolutely no help. Please keep us posted on your progress. Good Luck.
