| Tension in the house! I finally got a little playmate for Penny.. however, Jenna, a 4 lb 5 month Shihtzu, doesn't seem make Penny very happy. Jenna is very playful but she doesn't know that Penny, who is half Jenna's size, isn't very fond of her. How do I make them get along.. or help Penny love Jenna??? Any advice? |

| Dogs are like kids... you can't make them get along. Be sure to give each one individual attention and do not show favoritism or be too protective of the little one. As months go on you will seee more bonding between them but this takes time. I have 6 Yorkies and have never seen love at first sight between any of them. Janie |

| Thanks Thanks Janie, Are there any ways of making them play together? Make Jenna (the shih tzu) more appealing to Penny? |

My furkids Donating Member | Sadie is 2 1/2 yrs old and I brought another puppy in house...Lillie was 8 weeks old...I was very worried about how Sadie would act as she was the only dog...I thought where Lillie was a puppy Sadies "motherly instinct" would kick in (she never had puppies though) but, where Sadie is an adult I thought she would "mother" Lillie....NOPE! Sadie didn't like Lillie AT ALL! For the first few days I thought "My God....what have I done!" Well each day got better and better...Lillie is 21 weeks now and Sadie adores her...don't get me wrong....Sadie still puts Lillie in her place. They play all the time...if one goes to the water bowl the other follows and they drink together....so cute!....I have even got them laying next to each other...so....don't give up hope...before you know it they will be best buddies.

| Adonis was the only dog for 5 years when I got Venus this past summer. I was so afraid he would be jealous. I took extra time with him, telling him I how much I loved him, and that he'd always be #1. They seemed to hit it off, well Venus loved him anyway. He was never mean to her, but didn't appreciate her jumping on him while he was taking a pee! It took about 3 days before I knew they'd be ok, without me watching every single minute. He still hops in my lap when I'm sitting where Venus can't get to yet. He still loves that 1 on 1 attention. Venus gets her 1 on 1 attention too. Now they love to play, but Venus isn't happy until she has ALL the toys, lol. Give them time, and give your first baby the same special 1 on 1 attention you used to give. I never had jealously that way myself. |

| my Tinker(6 yr old mix) was MAD MAD MAD when we brought Tootie home... then she was even madder when Hope arrived.. she has gotten used to both of them and will actually play with them if she thinks we are not looking! It takes time and they all seem to find their "place" in the herd... that is what I call mine since I have 5 pups... d
