| Black Light is really illuminating my carpet (ugh!) I need to revisit and old topic. Lily is awful about getting up in the middle of the night and peeing and then waking me up to go out. In this humidity, the house smells like Lily pee. Tonight I got the black light out which I try to do often. It always about gives me a heart attack to see the carpet. Now for the question. I always treat the places she has peed with simple solution, why can I still see a glowing area with the black light? Does it always show once they have gone to the bathroom on it?

| Oh no. Sorry you are dealing with this! I live in an apartment temporarily. Luckily I'm potty training my girl while we're here so she won't mess up our new place Good luck figuring it all out. I am sure you can clean it up somehow. If I recall from an earlier thread, you treat it with some sort of enzyme solution and then use a steam cleaner on it. |

| I have never black lighted my carpet but I did buy that Spot Bot and it really helps to get the stains out. It was recommended to me by a girl with two Jack Russells, one of whom really marked a lot. |

| It IS really bad! What looks invisible normally is totally scarey with a black light. YIKES! I wonder just how many spots I never knew about and /or treated. I think I will have a professional come in and clean carpets as soon as possible. I have even shampooed with Simple Solution. Guess it isn't doing me a lot of good.

| I'm kind of scared to pull out a blacklight to see all the spots. What cleaning products are you using to clean them up?

| Oh boy, if I were to turn on that black light I think my whole house would glow in the dark!! My boy is a terrible marker and he pees just about every where. Lucky for me, I have wood floors, so cleanup is a cinch. Not too sure about carpets though.

| If the spot is still appearing under the black light... Then the stain is still there. Pour the stuff and let it soak down to the pad, then shampoo your carpets. If you got it all, when you turn on the black light it will be gone. If you didnt get it all, it will not be as bright... Then you have to retreat till its gone. I went through this when I has Parker on my year old carpets. UGGG |
