| the groomers elastic bow really hurt my baby! it was so cute when i picked her up and brought her home from the groomers... (and i do love her groomer she loves snickers) but when i went to take it out i didnt realize they had used a regular elastic and it was all knotted and matted and her beautiful hair was an awful mess! i put a ton of that deeeep conditioner in it from aussie cuz its thick and hoping massaging it in then combing it would help but it still ripped alot of her hair out i felt terrible! it will grow back... right?? it doesnt look bad really just thinner what does everyone use on thier babies to pull the bangs back as they are growing it out? barrettes? i dont ever want to hurt her like that again i was close to tears |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | oh wow - a groomer did that to my girls a long time ago - next time - try cutting the band out rather than trying to do it yourself..it's tricky to cut and not cut hair but if you go slow you can do it. |

| i did try but the hair was matted all around it i couldnt get a good look at the elastic and she was fighting it like crazy i feel terrible tho and will never ever let an elastic get put in her hair again (it was one of those rubber elastics you might use in an office or something) any suggestions as to what you use? do you use barrettes? i dont want to hurt her i would rather she go bow free and have her hair kinda messy than hurt her |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Thank you !! And her hair will grow back by the way I use the small bands I bought in the grocery store - the trick is to take them out every day before they matt around the hair....I just learned to put the bands in just tight enough to stay... but not so tight I can't untwist them - it takes practice. There are also latex bands just for dogs and you can find them online pretty cheap. They're really tiny though - I can't get my fingers to work with them I use barrettes too - but again - you usually need a band first to keep the hair in place.....For your girl right now - you could try the Scrunchies - they have really tiny ones and they're covered in cloth - can't hurt the hair at all. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Here's a site with the Latex Bands - they don't pull the hair as much as rubber and good luck - http://www.puppybows.com/latexbandsorderpage.htm |

| Kizzys hair isnt quiet thick enough yet and its so soft feeling for a barrette to stay in good so I usually put in a band, I use to work with it until I got it out but now if it doesnt come out right away, I take my scissors and take the point in an upward position to get under the band then I just snip the band and it usually comes right out. But i've had a few that didnt want to come out so good. I'm still learning with her too and Maggies only 10 weeks and I just take a clip sometimes and clip it in her hair but I watch her carefully to make she she dont get it out. She dont usually mess with it. I've only done it 2 times and both times it stayed in most of the day and when I saw it had slid up from the head a little bit, I just took it on out to make sure it didnt slide out. It was the kind you put in babies hair.

| I use to use the doggie bands and just cut them out at the end of the day but now I use bows from wal-mart they kind of have fabric like around them they stretch out really easy so you can only use them once but I got a bag from like $1 or $2 and it was like 1000 of them and they are different colors it works really well. They are children's bows.
