Sneezing! My Kelsey is sneezing a lot lately. She has been treated for Parvo, and when i first mentioned it to the Dr. @ the vet, she told me this was normal if there was no discharge or anything..and my dog is very healthy and doing fine. Although...she just had some shots (the day i asked the Dr.) about 1 week ago. And now she is sneezing SO much...like 3 in a row every 15-20 min or so. I called the vet and asked the receptionist over the phone if this is common and she said yes, that it could be from her shots or whatnot. But I told her she was sneezing BEFORE shots and the Dr. told me to disregard it? She said "oh, well then you'll need to bring her in". So im SOO confused! Anyone know what this could be?? What should i do? I dont want to pay the office visit if it's something that'll go away on it's own that they'll just tell me I can't do anything for.

sneezing If she is acting well adn you said,no discharge from ehr nose..maybe it is just her way. I had a girl who sneezed when I dusted..the others weren't bothered, but KC couldn't take it.

reverse sneezing I don't think my topic is directly related to your issue, but my yorkie was making weird noises everytime we would try to go to sleep. (about 1x a month for about 3 months now) One night he kept doing it...making these weird noises....it sounded like he was having trouble breathing....it didnt really sound like a sneeze...it sounded like hiccups? I'm not sure, but i panicked b/c this was the 3rd time he's been doing this! I rushed him to the emergency clinic and the vet said he was perfectly healthy. She recommended me video tape him doing "this" so she could accurately diagnose him, but from my descriptions she categorized it as reverse sneezing? It's just weird b/c my yorkie doesn't do it every night....only sometimes. And he's even vomitted (small, yellow liquid). I guess I'm trusting the vet, that he's healthy, but I also have my video camera right next to my bed in case this happens agains. It was scarey. So my advice to you is....take him to the vet b/c its better safe than sorry? My problem was....as soon as I took my dog to the vet he stopped making those noises!

Very intresting! My dog does the reverse sneezing thing sometimes too. She also has hicups aside from that. Maybe about 5 x's a week she'll have hicups. Maybe she's intaking too much air? I have no idea. All i know is it's cute when she does it..lol. Im going to ask the vet about that too. Gosh im just full of questions! haha. I appreciate you both responding to me..thanks!

That is interesting...video taping her to show the vet! It never fails...take them into the vet and they stop doing what they've been doing...kinda like taking a car into the mechanic...making a weird noise and when the mechanic drives it, the noise magically diappears! Go figure! My Maddie does quite a bit of sneezing and it seems like she does it more when she's playing and excited. I have wondered if it could be an allergy...and allergy season is here! Good luck with Kelsey...I hope you get it figured out and if you do, let us know!
