| Is your yorkie part kangaroo? Oh boy, Nikko loves going outside. He gets so happy, but instead of walking outside, he actually jumps!! He looks like a baby kangaroo when I take him out. He is so excited that he pulls on the leash until it won't give anymore and then hops up and down as he pulls on me. And don't get me started on him seeing other people and other dogs. He goes into hopping overdrive. He lunges at oncoming people, but not in a bad way. He just loves attention and wants everyone to play with him. Most people think it is cute and when I tell them he is a year old, they all say "oh, he's just a baby. He'll outgrow it." But sometimes I run into the occassional person that doesn't like dogs and it is embarrassing. Even though I hold his leash very short, he still hops up and down while the person passes by. Does anyone else's baby do this? At what age can I expect him to grow out of this? It is kind of embarrassing when I see other dogs walking calmly on their leashes and mine is bouncing around like a wind up toy.

| Tiger does not have the luxury of roaming our property without a leash so he does his "kangaroo" jumps on our kings size bed instead |

| I love that bunny hop that yorkies do! Maddie does that now and then on the leash...but, my daughter's dog, who is also Maddie's brother, does it all the time...exactly what you were describing! I figure he gets twice the exercise from pulling so hard and no matter what we've tried to get him to stop, he just keeps on! I think they get so excited to be on a walk!

| both of my puppies hop like bunnies as well, even with a leash, although it's decreased since we got the easy walk for our big boy. It pulls him back when he tries to pull or lunge. Before this, we were at a fair with tons of people and Chester gets excited and wants to say hi to everone. Well, he lunged at this one woman holding a bag of strawberries. It was embrassing because she scolded him even though we apologized profusely, obviously she hates dogs. He doesn't know any better! Dog lover don't really mind, in fact, they reach down to pet him when he jumps on them.

| My Jax has the bunny hop syndrome too! It's like the blades of grass are gonna attack him if he stays on them for too long. He can haul butt too when he hops! I am pretty sure he can hop faster than if he just ran.
