| When yorkies get scared why do the crawl up to your shoulder? I seen on another thread about her yorkie crawling up to her shoulder cause he was scared. Parker does the same thing and so does other yorkies that I know. I wonder why? Does it make them feel bigger???? I is just too cute! (just a thought.......) |

| I have one that climbs up to my shoulder, but not because he is scared. I raise parrots so I just thought he was trying to act like them! |

| Baby does it a lot especially at the vets. She also does it when someone tries to take her from me. She'll claw right up my shoulder and stay there just looking behind me. Its very cute. I've always felt she wants protection |

| Wow, this is so interesting. Mine does the same thing, especially when we are in the car. Weird, maybe it is a yorkie thing.

| I agree. Rocco only does it at the vet, Bella does it when we get in the car. Bella (age 13 weeks) is so tiny, she can fall asleep on my shoulder and that is fine (as long as someone else is driving!)

| WOW...Topher does this, too!! I thought he was the only one!! When I first took him in the car without being in his kennel or carseat, he would crawl up onto my shoulder. He also does it other times when he's scared! He used to do it in bed, as well, when he was nervous, but he doesn't do that anymore. I wonder why they feel safer there? |

| My Joey climbs on my shoulder too. Not only when he is afraid of something or unsure, but he is a cuddler. He'll crawl up and lay his head on my shoulder and neck. He will be two years old, but he is so baby like. I love it when he just lays there and sleeps.
