| Feeding Schedules For those that feed your pups on a schedule: What times do you feed your puppies? Do you feed 2 or 3 times a day? Approximatlely at what times does your pup eliminate? What's the age of your puppy? Thanks for any replies! |

| Both of mine have food out 24/7,they eat when they please and its worked very well for us.Yorkies eat very little and in some cases very slowly so in my case the food schedule didnt work.I tried it at first but Lady would eat a few kibbles and walk away,so I didnt like taking her bowl away because to me she hadent eaten hardly anything. Both of mine eat wonderfuly now and they poop once a day.I think a food schedule is good for bigger breeds or for any dog that is over weight, but in my opinion a yorkie or any other toy breed with risks of hypoglycemia should be free fed (food out 24/7). I have free fed mine ever snce they were tiny..Lady was 7 weeks old and is now 17months,and Jess was 8 weeks old and is now a year old...I still leave foo out 24/7. |

I absolutely agree! Fred has food out all the time. He's good at peeeing on his pee-pee pad so no worries for us. Sometimes he'll have an accident here and there but he's still learning! He also poops once a day. He drinks water like a maniac though! Luckily I have not dealt with hypoglycemia due to non-eating because it sure looks like Fred loves to eat and drink. I think Yorkies are smart enough to know when they're full and when they're hungry! | |

| No offense...but I was asking the people that HAVE their dogs on a schedule. Ringo has been on a schedule since I got him. He's done fine physically and is actually little pig. I can't leave food down or he'd get sick from eating too much. He eats very quickly and would eat until he's bloated if I let him. So, I think all Yorkies are different. He's almost 6 months old now. | Being still a puppy it is recomended you feed him at least 3 times a day...after 1 year you feed only 2 times. With Mojo as a puppy his schedule was - 9:00 => 3:00 => 7:00 |
