| Chain-link fence... Has anyone ever had any problems with their yorkies escaping through the "holes" in a chain-link fence? If so, how do you keep them from escaping??? Also, any dangers I should be aware of??? Thanks!

| I dont have any problems with the holes in the fence but my Jewels who is 6lbs can squat under the gate. Even though she can do it the only time she does it is when one of us is outside the fence so its not a problem.

| I have an escape artist. I got some chicken wire at Home Depot and attached it to my chain link fence with plastic electrical ties. Works great and when you are looking at the fence you really can't see it.

| I have recently had this problem with my ~6 lb. puppy. There were 4 geese in the backyard which adjoins to mine. My little guy was determined to get to those geese and squeezed completely under the fence and over into the neighbor's yard before I could run to pick him up. Thankfully, he scared the geese and they flew away. My neighbor had already lowered the fence gates to the ground, but there were a couple of sections of the fence that there was a small space between the ground and the fence (due to uneven ground). These were small spaces, but it doesn't take much for yorkies to squeeze themselves thru. We have now added chicken wire type fencing around the bottom perimeter of the entire fence. I have not had any further issues with my puppy getting out. He doesn't even try anymore (and the geese are still hanging out in the neighbor's yard every once in awhile.) |

| I use chicken wire on my wood fence too. I buried it 3 inches under ground then stapled it to the wood fence. |

| Yep, we are a chicken wire family too! We had to put it around our fence (both wood and chain link) when we got a Jack Russel terrier. We put in flat on the ground a foot out from the fence and staked it down with tent stakes and then made it go at a 90 degree angle up the fence about a foot and stapled it to the wood fence and used plastic zip holder on the chain link fence. We had to have it out a foot in front of the fences so the Jack R couldn't dig under. It works GREAT! the grass has now grown up and you can't see it on the ground - the only problem is that the grass grows up behind it next to the fence - so if you are really fussy about the way your yard looks, you might not like it - but it works like a charm to keep little dogs where they are supposed to be! Now, when Rowdy was a baby, he could squeeze through the holes in the chain link fence so we had to watch him like a hawk - but thankfully, he soon got too big to do that trick.
