| Here in FLorida I live in Port Saint Lucie . Which is 90 miles south of Orlando. We live on the east side . We decided to put our shutters on around 4 PM when we heard that the hurricane was already a 4 ,at 145 mile winds. Went to Walmart and picked up a few things. It was chaos in there. My yorkie Cookie was with me the whole day ,in and out of my carrier purse. Just bought it for him and I love it! Well I'm glad to say that we didnt even hear or feel any winds or heavy rain here. So everything is calm and well. I feel really bad for those who live on the south west part of Florida . They really got pounded and hundreds of thousands of homes are without power and wont have power for a few weeks . So far 2 people are confirmed dead. One person decided that with 70 MPH gusts of wind it was the perfect time to try and leave! Well that car flew off the ground and the man died. Also a hurricane shelter with approx. 1,000 people in it collapsed. The roof caved in and so far I havent heard of any injuries Genie |

| I am almost cross-eyed trying to catch up here and having one eye on the TV watching all the devistation in FL!! We have spent so much time in different areas there ... most recently in the Orlando area! I pray that all these beautiful places will recover quickly! Now I am worrying about the Carolina's where we have family near the coast! Also worrying about all the other bad weather that hurricane's spawn and send inland!! Looks like I need to find another distraction to occupy my mind until it's finally over! I just pray that it will fizzle out before it does any more damage!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Worse than We Thought I woke up and saw that People ARE MISSING in Florida!! That is not susposed to happen with all the news and warnings - I haven't seen all the coverage but WOW !! This WAS a big one ! I hope everyone and their Extended families are safe and that ALL THE Little 4 legged family members were looked out for ! We hear about the people and it's awful - but we never hear about their pets!!! Makes us really appreciate our lives no matter what our problems are ! |

| storm We are visiting in FT L..all is fine here..a bit of wind and rain. Glad you are fine, Cookie!!! We put a deposit on place in Boynton Beach..I am not too concerned about moving. We had a bad tornado in our area in Maryland two years ago, so if it is not one thing it is another. |

| Yes, I believe my friend that just moved to Orlando should be okay, but it looks like his family is without power this morning. Hope his dogs (and yes, even cats) are okay through the horrible hurricane... |

| Glad to hear all are fine. It's one of those thing you never know what will happen. Most of my family live in the Tampa area and they lucked out. A cousin in Orlando had a tree fall on his house but all were ok, thats what counts you can alway fix a house. My prayers are still with all that are still in is't path..................Cindy |
