Default Here in FLorida

I live in Port Saint Lucie . Which is 90 miles south of Orlando. We live on the east side . We decided to put our shutters on around 4 PM when we heard that the hurricane was already a 4 ,at 145 mile winds. Went to Walmart and picked up a few things. It was chaos in there. My yorkie Cookie was with me the whole day ,in and out of my carrier purse. Just bought it for him and I love it!
Well I'm glad to say that we didnt even hear or feel any winds or heavy rain here. So everything is calm and well. I feel really bad for those who live on the south west part of Florida . They really got pounded and hundreds of thousands of homes are without power and wont have power for a few weeks . So far 2 people are confirmed dead. One person decided that with 70 MPH gusts of wind it was the perfect time to try and leave! Well that car flew off the ground and the man died. Also a hurricane shelter with approx. 1,000 people in it collapsed. The roof caved in and so far I havent heard of any injuries
