| Moving..... My boyfriend and I are making another move. Our first one was from Las Vegas to Texas and this one is just a little over ten-twenty minutes away. Well here's my question.... Tigger is used to living in a SMALL apartment (1,000 sq feet) and now we're moving to an actual house with a nice sized yard for him the house is around 2,300 sq feet. And he hasn't lifted his leg yet, he's eight months old, and I haven't noticed him mark. He does tinkle when he gets excited but hasn't marked. Well here's my question.... Do you think he's going to begin marking in our new house and if so, what step can I take to help prevent this? we're looking into getting an exercise pen, but any help would be appreciated. Has anyone tried any repellants and do they work?

| I'm not sure if you are thinking about breeding him, but we got Kiki neutered and he is not marking at all.

| Not sure if he would start marking, but with my pup he is completly potty trained in my small apt. When he goes to my parents house, maybe once or twice a week, he gets confused by the amount of space and dosn't know where he is expected to go so is still not potty trained there. I think you're probly going to have a few accidents until he gets used to his new surroundings... he'll get it though. My pup is just starting to come around and ring his bells at the big house, it's just taken time to adjust him to knowing what to do in his usual little space and a much larger one. good luck with the move! |

| When we moved from a tiny tiny apt to a three bedroom house with a fenced in back yard Cosmo did great. He loved being outside. He was pad trained at the time and never lifted his leg at 8 months either. He is a year old and still does not lift his leg. He had some accidents in the house but I put down some puppy pads at first now he just runs to the back door. I put a baby gate up in the kitchen when I leave.

He is neutered and from what others have said and I may be confused about this so if I am please set me straight is that even though he's neutered he may still mark. He's been great about potty training, but this is the only house(if you can call it that) that he's ever lived in and this new house has four bedrooms, two baths and is very spacious. (No, I'm not expecting. My boyfriend likes all the bedrooms. He'll be using on for the office and the third one is a guest room and the fourth one I joke is for Tiggers stuff). We'll be putting up and x-pen and I'll make sure to put down a ton of wee wee pads, I'm just worried about him getting really confused. Is there anything I can do to make the move less stressful on him???

| Boys mark, it's just a fact of life. If you don't want your new abode to be marked, get the little fellow fixed. The other thing you might want to think about is that dogs get stressed when their routine is messed up and a move will do that. Try to keep their routine running the same, same feeding time, walking time and give him attention. When we moved, Gracie seemed all right but she started pee peeing on the floor and barked a lot. Our trainer told us that this is what dogs do to tell us - Hey, I am stressed out and I need someone to tell me what to do. They are telling you they are upset by this odd behavior, so try to keep things as close to the way they are now when you move. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your new home.

| Congratulations on your move and you may want to try to pick up a few Belly Bands for him. If you notice him marking start using them. Good Luck! Angie |
