| Quick Question on Food - Thanks Everyone! I am running out of my recent bag of Science Diet dog food for my pup Laila. We have been using the Science Diet Puppy bites that are the small pebbles. She just turned 1 on January 1st, and I am not sure if I should ween her off of this type and switch to Adult. My question is if the experts think I should keep Laila on the puppy pebbles since she loves it and is very small (3.5), or if I should switch. I had heard that with small dogs you can keep them on the puppy food because it is high in vitamins, etc??? Thank you kindly for your help and advice!!

| i think the puppy formula tend to be higher in protein and fat since they're necessary for a growing puppy. but they can make an adult dog fat. if you are concerned about the nutritional content of the adult dog food, maybe it's best if you look into the "premium" grade of dog foods like innova, natural balance, nutro ultra, candiae, etc. |

| Thanks everyone! I really appreciate your advice. I don't know what I'd do w/out Yorkie Talk to help me solve problems for our perfect little furbabies! Also... is it necessary to 'ween' off of the Science Diet puppy to the Science Diet adult if I were to switch - wasn't sure because they are still the same brand if the 2 week ween was necessary.

| My vet says to switch them no earlier than 12 months and that yorkies can stay on the puppy food even longer because they are a small dog.

YT 3000 Club Member | Science doesnt have the best ingriendents in it, it has by products which isnt anything good, corn which is a big allergic thing and some of the science diet has bha and bht in it which is not good, they use in for presertatives, personally I would never use science diet, check into it, the vets recomment it because they get a kick back from it. |
