| I Can't Stand The Dollar Bill! I am sick to my stomach to see how many people selling pups put them next to dollar bills. What is wrong with these people? Most of these pups are a couple of days old and very delicate and suceptible to disease. I feel so bad and it angers me to see this new trend. If they do it to show size quite honestly what it makes me think is that they want to charge an arm and a leg for the pups. I don't agry with this practice at all. |

| While I am sure some might not have good intentions, some probably are not doing this in a nasty way. The only reason I say this is because when I got my little girl at 12 weeks, I immediately started taking a million pictures (literally......well, almost ) and quickly realized that you couldn't tell just how small she was. So, one time when she was laying on the couch, I laid a dollar bill next to her to take a picture real quick just so that I would be able to see how small she was one day when flipping back through my scrapbook. I never even thought about the fact that the bills are filthy, but it's not like I let her sniff or lick it either. I mean, you don't wash your hands before you pet your baby each time, right? Besides, look at all of the stuff these little guys eat off of the ground! I was just telling my two last night that I have done so much research and spent quite a bit of money to try to make sure that they are on the best food possible and then they go around and eat everything they find on the ground! Anyways, I know that this is different than putting a puppy who is only a few days old next to a dollar bill, but I bet most of them haven't thought about it in the way that you have........they are just trying to use something that most people can relate to size wise.

| Does this mean instead of "teacup Yorkies" we are going to see "Dollar Bill Yorkies?" Ha ha ha...I think a dollar bill is cuter than a teacup anyday of the week. |

| I am guilty of taking the teacup pictures. When I brought my girl home she was 12 oz. I took a picture of her in a teacup. I think when you have a small one like that you just take those kind of pictures. By the way my little girl is now 6 lbs. I swear there was miracle grow in her food!

| I think some of them just want to show the real size of their pups. But I do agree, bills are really dirty. Our son works at a Surf Shop, and the girl at the counter had a relly weird looking eye, they sent her to ER. When she came back she said they told her her eye was infected by touching her eyes with out washing them after handling money. Germs are every where, Its so gross.

| Yeah, I have to agree. With all of the props out there, the dollar bill has to be the absolute worst for a breeder to use. IMHO, it just screams "I'm in it for the money!" |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I know of some well established breeders that have taken pictures of them with a dollar bill. It is used by them to show size. I for one, don't get offended since many people have a difficult time imagining what a 14 ounce pup looks like.

Hee hee......funny! The beauty of estimating weights. Havent thought to much about the props people use but I do know on a few of my yorkie puppies using a liter of pop would be closer to showing size Last edited by luvdorkyyorkies; 01-31-2006 at 06:49 AM. | |

| When we had our pups, I put my cell phone down beside them just so you could compare the size. I guess I had the first high-tech Yorkies...the Cellular Yorkshire! You guys will have to excuse me...I am in a rather silly mood today. Yes, yes...I know that is a big SHOCK and all... |

| I can't image why anyone's putting a puppy beside a dollar bill would upset anyone. Since all of us are so familar -- to say the least -- with the size of a dollar bill, it is simply done to show the size of the puppy (or dog). Of course -- it has nothing whatsoever to do with the price of any puppy!!!! Sorry - but, I really think we are running out of things to worry about!!!!!! Carol Jean |

| i've seen it and i actually thought it was a great idea to hold them up to a dollar bill because it gives you a good idea at how big the puppy/full grown dog actually is. [mind you, i saw it next to a puppy that was 10-14weeks old, not one a few days old, that i think is ridiculous because its perfectly clear how teeny they actually are.] i even think holding them up to coke can and sticking them in a teacup is sometimes tastefully done and not done as a marketing ploy. maybe if you posted the link to where you saw this, i could understand your fury a little better because i really dont get why they would place day old puppies next to dollar bills to show size when its very clear how small a 3 day old pup is. i hope i made sense and didnt offend you in any way, just stating my opinion<333
