| Update on Silk I want to thank everyone that encouraged me to give Silk more time. She has done a 180 degree turnaround. I placed the ad to start yesterday but after I shut the computer down on Thursday, I took her and Ceeby BOTH outside to play and pee. She sniffed my whole yard and even chased Ceeby a few feet a couple of times. I had been taking her out alone because ceeby runs and jumps her and she would not leave my side. So I was very encouraged by that. yesterday when the phone started ringing, I told people the truth about why I wanted to sell her but told them I was going to give her the weekend. Yesterday all day, every time I took her out she played just a little. She even came off the couch. She wouldn't play fetch tho. She watched me like a hawk. Then she started whining and barking when I left the room. She had not made one sound up to that point. Then I laid down on the couch and pulled her off the back and had her in my lap rubbing her belly. Ceeby came up and sniffed a few times and laid right down beside her. I went to bed at nine thirty last night because I was so tired and felt bad. At ten thirty I had to get up because she was barking every breath. I laid on the couch with her and Ceeby both and she never made another sound. At three this morning, I went back to bed and had to get back up at four to so in the room with her. I am hoping that Ceeby and the family can get some sleep tonight. She ran to meet my hubby when he came home yesterday and she has been down on the floor at the baby gate several times. She is turning all the water bowls over. I bought a bottle and she acts like she don't know what it is. I have never seen her drink yet but the vet says she is drinking when I don't see her. She is peeing and pooing so she must be. Right now, Ceeby is in my lap abd she is lying on the computer table looking me right in the eye. I think things will work out. I am so glad I did not let her go out of discouragement. And almost a hundred percent of people that wanted her, wanted her to breed. They said she has two maybe three more litters left in her and not to give up on her. The main thing is she has warmed up to Ceeby (us,too). He has settled down some and is not aggravating her everytime she gets down. She came off the couch this morning when I tossed her a toy but she didn't take it. I bet she does before the day is over. Now my hubby says I have her spoiled and I probably do because I have been showering attention on her. Just wanted to let you all know I am not selling her and we are all happy. |

| Here goes..... as crazy as it may sound.... Dogs read body language like we read books. Silk couldn't understand why you were upset/frustrated, only that you were and that made her nervous and upset. To be honest I haven't read all of the Silk posts, but from what I gather that isn't what started the problem, maybe she was just unsure of how to act in her new environment around new fur-siblings. Anyway, the more upset/frustrated you got, the more clingy afraid she got..... and then..... when you made the commitment to sell her, your body language changed, you were not longer upset/frustrated because you had decided upon a solution that would work. I am sure that decision broke your heart, but those are different words in body language. Silk read that change and reacted accordingly. I am so glad that this story has a happy ending. |

| Your news is such a relief. The world we live in seems to be filled with many of us wanting "instant gratification". We need to realize that this should never be the case with sharing our lives next to our fur babies/kids. Some situations just take time. In the long run the time spent is so worth it. I hope each day builds a stronger bond!

| I'm so happy you didn't give up on her..It just take time for them to come around. Before long it will be like she has always been there. My little Izzy was kind of that way to..She was scared, would not play ..etc. She has been here 3 month and now she is full of **** and vinger. Boss's all the other dog around. Wants to play all the time.... Sherry |
